Witches were perceived as evil beings by early Christians in Europe. Witches are dark and deadly. They practiced witchcraft, using magic spells and calling upon spirits for help or to bring about change. Some witches are doing the Devil’s work. Many, however, were simply natural healers whose choice of profession was misunderstood.
A coven usually refers to a group or gathering of witches. A group across Europe met in groups of thirteen is called covens. Some coven doesn’t worship a man, sacrifice animals, dance naked in words, and don’t swear blood oaths. The covens were made up of women who joined of their own free will and never more than 13 members in a gathering. There are no men in a coven.
