Chapter Two - Bedtime Story

Ash's POV

"Ok, let’s start the story. Long, long time ago there was an Ancient Greek name Selene born to the Titans Hyperion and Theia. Selene is known as the Moon in Greek mythology. Selene has two siblings. She is the sister of the sun-god Helios and Eos, goddess of the dawn. She is also known as the girl she loves to drive her moon chariot across the heavens. Selene had 7 love affairs which mainly include, Zeus, Pan, and the mortal Endymion. She had 50 daughters to Endymion, and 2 daughters to Zeus known as Pandia and Ersa," I said.

"Wow, that’s a lot of daughters," said Melissa who was currently shocked about Selene's daughters. 

"So Selene gave birth to 50 daughters from a mortal Endymion. Selene must be one healthy woman to do that," said Nathaniel who thinks people with many children are wealthy. 

"Wait. Does that mean the 50 daughters are like half demi-Gods," asked Melissa who was still shocked about it?

"Umm, you can say that. Let’s continue with the story. The Moon Goddess then created Werewolves, Vampires, Ghosts, Crocotta, Rugaru, Sirens, Soul Eaters, Wendigo, the Scarecrow, Rakshasa, Daeva, Shtriga, Witches, Ghouls, Arachne, Djinn, Jefferson Starships, Hellhounds, Khan Worm, Demons, Knights of Hell, Angels, Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Leviathans, The Entity, Nephilim, Archangels, The Darkness, Fairies or Faes, mermaids, Elf, Nymph, Unicorn, Dragons, Succubus, Jinn, Manticore, Pegasus, Imp, Goddess, trolls, dwarf, and satyr. There are probably a lot more which I don’t recall. She created these creatures because she was bored and wanted to make Earth more interesting," I continued.

"Did you say unicorns? I love unicorns. I want to see one, daddy. Will you find me one," asked Melissa wishing to see a unicorn herself one day?

"Unicorns are hard to find, Melissa but I’ll do my best. Unicorns are the most beautiful creatures on Earth that the Moon Goddess created," I said.

"That is a lot of creatures you have named. You got me lost after the first 5 you’ve named dad. Are they monsters," asked Nathaniel who was more interested in monsters for a boy his age?

"We are all monsters to the human eyes. So yes, they are monsters. Now back to my story. After years and years have gone by, the world was getting out of control. So the Moon Goddess sent some creatures back to hell while leaving a few behinds, a few that I know for now are the Werewolves, Vampires, Witches, Dragons, Fairies, Mermaids and Angels," I said.

"What about my Unicorn," asked Melissa who was waiting for an answer from Ash?

"As I said, no one has spotted a Unicorn so far. They are hard to find. That is why I am only naming the few we all know that is still around on Earth today. Let’s continue; because she decided to leave a few backs behind on Earth, she set some ground rules for all the supernatural. The werewolves must stay in packs having an Alpha to guide them. The Vampires must stay in their clan and also has their own leader to watch over them. Same for the witches, dragons, fairies, mermaids, and angels; they all have a leader to control their packs," I said and took a brief pause.

"Then years past by and the supernatural got out of control. For example, Rogues were created for not following the rules of their werewolf pack. The pack has vanished many werewolves from their pack to become Rogues. Rogues are dishonest, wild animals have driven away from their packs and they have a savage or destructive tendency. We as werewolves must stay away from Rogues. They can doom us," I explained.

"But, why were they kicked out of their packs," asked Melissa who currently was more interested than Nathaniel?

"Rogues became like savages because they lost their mate or they did not follow the rules of their pack. Rules are there to protect one another. If you don’t follow, they will get kicked out and banned for life. Losing a mate can cause a wolf to lose their humanity. Either they die of depression or destroy any around him," I explained.

"So what is one of the pack rules," asked Nathaniel sounding curious?

"Good question. One of the pack rules if not to hunt humans down for pleasure, food or just for the kill. Many Rogues have done this and they had to suffer the consequences," I said.

"Continue with the story, Dad," said Melissa waiting to hear more.

"Ok, The Moon Goddess saw that the packs are getting out of control, so she has created a new daughter, and made her The Queen of all Werewolves to rule and protect her werewolves. Selene made her powerful, and nothing can stop her from protecting her kingdom. Then the Moon Goddess created two mates for the Queen. She made them the Protector of their Queen and Warrior of all werewolves’ and also known as Kings. They are here to protect their Queen and fight for their werewolves’ in battle," I said.

"Oh wow. Is that you, dad? Are you a warrior," asked Nathaniel?

"Yes, son. Let me finish. The Queen and Kings are here to protect their werewolves and keep every supernatural living thing under control. Now, time to sleep. It’s already late," I said.

"Goodnight, dad. I love you," said Melissa who was satisfied with the story and ready to fall asleep?

"Wait, you didn’t answer my question, dad," said Nathaniel wanting to hear more.

"Goodnight my kids. I love you, both. And Nathaniel, I am that warrior," I responded to Nathaniel. Then Esmeralda comes into the room at that moment.

"Hey, I'm just stopping by to say goodnight, loves," said Esmeralda while waving at them from the door.

Melissa and Nathaniel bid goodnight to their mom and off they went to bed and Ash turns off the light and closed the door.
