Frankie’s Job

Frankie “fab” Leonetti stood outside the store where Mirella and Joey Junior went inside. He had spent the last 3 weeks since the meeting tracking Mirella and the little boys moves. Every time Big Tony was right near them except today he stayed in the black Escalade waiting outside across the street. Frankie walked past the store and around to the back and entered the store through their storeroom. Frankie checked in the room and no one was back there. He peaked through the doorway to the inside of the store and saw Mirella looking through clothes on a rack while the little boy snuck under the racks playing hide and seek with his mama. Every time she found him he would giggle. It made Frankie think twice about kidnapping the kid.

Then Frankie thought of how mad Arthur would be and decided it was in his best interest to go forward with the plan. As Frankie waited for the right time he thought of his own little boy at home. Joey Junior must be close to the same age as his own little guy Carmine. Frankies wife had wanted a baby so badly they had tried for almost two years before finally succeeding. Carmine was his wife’s pride and joy. Lilly would spend hours playing with Carmine. Poor Lilly wanted another child so badly but yet three years later they still hadn’t been able to conceive another child. Lilly had told Frankie that since he didn’t attend mass on a regular basis and all the work he was doing for the Anderro Family was the reason. Lilly thought that God was punishing them for all the things that Frankie had done.

Now was his chance Frankie snuck under the clothes rack and grabbed the little boy holding a hand tightly over his mouth so he couldn’t scream. He snuck out the back quickly and ran out into the alley where Georgio was waiting with a sleek black car. Frankie wasted no time jumping into the back with the boy as Georgio sped down the alley. Just as they took a right at the corner, Big Tony was coming down the alley and Mirella ran out into the alley. Georgio weaved in and out of traffic. Joey Junior was wailing for his mama and Frankie was trying to tell him it will be okay.

Georgio continued to turn left and right trying to lose the black Escalade that followed behind them. “Frankie shut up that kid. I’m trying to concentrate,” Georgio said. Georgio didn’t have kids and apparently didn’t like them either. “Ssshhhh,” Frankie said holding Joey Junior on his lap trying to calm him down. Big tears fell from the little boys eyes as he looked up at Frankie scared not sure what was going on, it’s gonna be all right Frankie thought as he held the boy. Joey Junior started to calm down when Frankie gave him a little toy bear he had in his pocket. It was Carmine’s, but for now it was calming Joey.

Georgio turned another corner and a semi pulled out in front of the Escalade allowing them to get away. They headed to a laundromat that was owned by the Anderro Family. Georgio parked around the back of the laundromat and they took Joey Junior inside. The kid gripped the toy bear tightly in his pudgy little hand and held onto Frankie’s hand with his other hand. When they got inside Arthur and Snake were sitting in the office. Arthur knelt down and greeted Joey Junior, Joey gripped Frankie’s hand more tightly and hid behind his leg. “Come here Joey it’s okay, we will get you back to your mama real soon,” Arthur said. From behind his back he had a present that he handed to Joey. The little boys eyes lit up upon seeing the brightly colored box. “This is for you,” Arthur said with a smile. Arthur thought of his own son at that age, his own Leo had the same little lines on his chunky arms and legs. Arthur thought about Leo now as a grown man he was fit and had recently turned 21. Leo spent his days sleeping and his nights going to strip clubs and bars.

Leo was gay and Arthur was still trying to come to terms with this fact. Arthur’s wife Lucia had been supportive of Leo since the day he told them that he was gay. Leo was such a shy kid growing up and now he was openly gay showing out. Arthur thought maybe he should have spent more time with the boy instead of letting his wife do almost all of the parenting.

Joey Junior was sitting on the floor with Frankie playing with the toy truck that Arthur had given him. Arthur asked Joey, “do you want to go somewhere fun?” Joey nodded and smiled shyly at Arthur. Joey took Arthur’s outstretched hand and followed him to the car, Frankie had put in a car seat and got in the back with Joey while Arthur sat in the front and Georgio drove. After leaving the city, the countryside was wooded and beautiful. Arthur thought about how many times he and Lucia had taken Leo up to the cabin in the Adirondacks. Halfway to the cabin the group stopped for a bite to eat.

Following their lunch Joey fell asleep for the rest of the drive. The cabin was a large log cabin with a hot tub out on the back deck and a huge porch that extended from one end of the front to the other. Many nights Arthur and Lucia had spent enjoying the quiet wildlife that came to life in the darkness surrounding that front porch. They had also enjoyed many steamy evenings in that hot tub Arthur thought fondly remembering the night they conceived Leo.

Arthur and Lucia had come up to the cabin to get away from the city and the family business. After securing a particularly large contract to provide their services to the government Arthur had decided that he and Lucia needed some time alone since he hadn’t been home much for the months prior to receiving the contract. They had gotten a nice bottle of wine and some steaks that Arthur had grilled out on the back deck. As Arthur was preparing their dinner and enjoying a beer as he grilled and enjoyed the quiet. Lucia walked out from the cabin with nothing on but the pearl necklace that Arthur had given her as a wedding present. Arthur had felt his balls tighten and his manhood harden as he looked at Lucia standing before him. He quickly took the steaks off the grill and walked across the deck running his hands up into Lucia long dark hair and pulling her close.

Arthur was still reminiscing as they arrived at the cabin thinking that he should bring Lucia again to the cabin. It had been years since he had spent time alone with Lucia. He decided when they got back he would take her up here for the weekend just the two of them. Maybe they could rekindle some of their long lost love.
