“I would like to thank you all for coming so quickly,” Mirella said as she looked around the table. There were six gentleman and four ladies seated around the oval dining room table at the Deluco Family residence. The individuals varied from 20 to 60. Some had been in the family for a long time and some had just joined, but one thing was certain they were all loyal to Mirella. “So as you all know Joey and my son Joey Junior was taken by the Anderro family. He has been taken up to a cabin in the Adirondacks. We are going to get him back so who is with me,” Mirella said. “I’m with you,” Big Tony said with a smile. “Thank you for your loyalty,” Mirella said and placed a hand on Tony’s arm. One by one they each agreed to help. Mirella was pleased as she knew they were all loyal even with her husband locked up in prison. The phone rang and Mirella recognized the number it was Lucas at the prison. “Hello,” Mirella said. “Hello,” Joey said his deep voice sounding troubled. “Lucas just told me about Joey Junior, and that son of a b***h Anderro is gonna pay. I promise you,” Joey said with venom in his voice. “The family is gathered here Joey,” Mirella said as she put her phone on speaker. “Good evening everyone and thank you for coming in our time of need. I trust everyone is well,” Joey said. Everyone around the table nodded and voiced their acknowledgment. “So any thoughts,” Joey said. “Ben said that he thinks Joe Joe is up in the Adirondacks in a cabin owned by the Anderro Family,” Mirella said. “Okay so let’s go get him do you know where it is Ben?” Joey asked on the phone. “Yes sir, I have been up there during a business meeting I had with Arthur Anderro,” Ben said. “Okay I’m not gonna ask what your business dealings with as I want you to help find my son,” Joey said clearly angry with the thought of working with someone who deals with the Anderro Family. Mirella sensed his apprehension but didn’t say anything. “All right let’s get up there and take as many as you can Mirella,” Joey said. “Let Ben take the lead on where to go. Do you think we should observe for a day or two?” Joey asked. “It would be a good idea,” Ben said looking around the table. All of the family around the table was looking at him skeptically. “All right then, I got to go,” Joey said before hanging up. Mirella looked around at everyone and said, “well I made dinner if you wouldn’t mind helping me get the plates ready.” Mirella looked at Jamie who was sitting near Big Tony, the petite brown haired girl who was in her mid-20s got up and followed Mirella into the kitchen. They served everyone a hearty dinner with garlic bread, spaghetti, meatballs, sausages, and stuffed cannelloni. After the meal they all agreed to meet up the following morning to head out, they would all go home and grab as many weapons and ammo as they could. They would all do what was necessary to get back Mirella and Joey’s son. The following morning everyone gathered at the house. They had decided to take 4 cars so everyone could ride comfortably. Mirella had reserved motel rooms for everyone at a local motel that Ben had said would be a good and quiet place to stay. Before they left the house Mirella heard the house phone ring and the caller ID showed an unknown number. “Hello,” Mirella said as she picked up the phone. A man said, “we have your son.” Mirellas heart began to pound in her chest. “I want you to stay calm we won’t hurt him, we just want to talk to you,” the man said. “Let me talk to him,” Mirella said as tears threatened to swell up and out of her eyes. Then she heard a tiny voice say, “hi mommy,” Mirella immediately recognized his voice. “Oh baby are you okay,” Mirella said as she held the phone tightly. Big Tony was staring at her now wanting to rip the phone from her hands and crush the man behind the phone. Mirella put up a finger to indicate for him to remain quiet. “Mommy are you coming it’s so nice here and this man bought me a nice truck,” Joey Junior said. “Yes baby I’m coming,” Mirella said. “Okay we just want to talk, but I want you to come alone,” the man said. “I will send you the address to the house, and I mean it alone,” the man said. “You can call me on the number I send you the text from, be ready,” the man said and hung up. Mirella was trembling as she hung up the phone. Big Tony pulled her into his arms and rubbed a hand over her hair. “They have my baby and they want me to talk to them alone,” Mirella said as she sobbed into Big Tony’s chest. “That’s not acceptable for you to go alone,” Big Tony said. “Well I don’t have much choice,” Mirella said as she looked down. “You know they are doing this because you’re in charge and Joey is in prison,” Big Tony said and Ben nodded his agreement. “They are supposed to text me and I will then call,” Mirella said. “Well at least ask them to allow you one person to accompany you,” Big Tony said. “How about Ben? Since he has already dealt with the family,” Big Tony said.
