I knew whatever Athan was fixing to tell me wasn’t going to be good, and whatever it was he didn’t want Ember to hear it. We waited for Damion to lead her away to Kendric’s house before we started talking. I knew no matter what she would question me tonight about it. Athan cleared his throat, bringing my attention back to him, “I’ve been hearing that Alpha Niko has gone off the deep end; that he has abandoned his pack and left them to fend for themselves. A lot of them have already joined other packs in attempt to survive. Rumor has it, he’s looking for a witch to help him take care of Ember.”
