Eleanor’s feet landed on the roof of the city hospital as she looked around to realize that no one was there before she remembered that no one could actually see her. Her wings folded back behind her back before they disappeared as she walked over to the exit from the terrace before making her way to the morgue of the hospital. She looked around, knowing that she was hidden from the view of all mortals as she walked among them, noticed them. She wondered sometimes about how simple and beautiful, as mortals, their lives must be. None of them were burdened with immortality or responsibilities that came with a never-ending youth. She wondered if the mortals loved more deeply than anyone else in the universe because they knew that they only had a few short years to cherish someone before
