The Fight part 2/Chapter 5 continued.

This is the continued part of part 5 Dreame will only allow 5,000 words per chapter and i wrote over 8,000 so i am so sorry to have had to split this into two parts. Tora was standing in the middle of the courtyard. He was barking out orders at anyone who ran by him. He wasn’t worried or at least he didn’t show it. His body langue said he was ready for this. Like he expected this to happen. He looked like he was totally in control of this situation. HIs eyes met mine for just a moment and that’s when I see his composure drop. Maybe it's because I look like s**t, maybe he was genuinely worried? I'm not sure and I didn’t have time to question it more as a child's scream pierced the air. Tora and I both turned at the sound but he froze his face going white. That was all I needed and my body was once again acting on instinct. I was running harder and faster than I thought possible to make it to this little girl who was completely surrounded. She seemed to be the wolves target as more of them stopped what they were doing to come to her.  When I was just outside of the circle of wolves, I started to swing my makeshift club at everything and anything to make a path to the small girl. When I made it into the circle, I didn’t have time to think as the wolved got into defensive positions. They snarled and bared their teeth at use as if it was a warning that they were going to kill us both now. I grabbed the little girl and threw her down the ground, climbing over her small body. I couldn’t do much in this situation but I could be her shield. I felt her body shaking underneath me as she sobbed and screamed. All at once the world stopped. Or at least it seemed like it. All the wolves seemed to pounce at once. One or maybe two landed on my body the rest were met by other wolves that were also flying through the air. We were in the middle of a full-on war but the little girl stopped crying. She pushed on my hurt shoulder lightly. Her blue green eyes searching. They must have found what she wanted as her face transformed from sad and afraid to happy and brave. My eyes followed hers. Standing maybe five feet from us and the two wolves that had pounced on us was a giant black wolf. HIs eyes following our every move. The little girl pulled her arm out from underneath me and waved right at the big wolf. I swear if it's possible the wolf smiled at her before remembering the situation, we were all in. I felt the breath on my neck and heard the little girl scream again.   When I looked behind me the two wolves stood right there. One of them moved even closer to use latching its teeth onto my leg and pulling. I could tell by the grip that he didn’t want me and dint care about me. He wanted the child underneath me. The black wolf tackled the other wolf as my foot connected with the one biting my leg. I don’t care if I die, he isn't going to hurt this little girl. I would gladly give my life if she lives. He released my leg giving his head a shake. I thought he would just give up and leave instead he pounced once more landing on my back. I didn’t have time to try and throw him off instead I put both my arms on either side of the girl, so I would take all the weight from the wolf. Let me tell you it hurt. It felt like my back was going to snap in two from the weight of this one wolf. He shouldn’t be this heavy is all I could think about. I knew it wouldn’t be long before he latched onto the back of my neck and snapped it like a twig. I was defenseless and surely, he knew that. When I felt his hot breath, I figured it would be over unit l I noticed the black wolf running towards us. If he got here in time I wouldn’t die, at least not today. Like that, my prayers seemed to be answered because the black wolf had tackled the other one off my back. I barely had time to cover the girl's eyes as the black wolf ripped the other ones throat out, spraying blood all over me and the girl.   I quickly climbed off of the girl and surveyed the area. All the other wolves were in heated battle. If the black wolf would let us go, we could make it to the house. We had to. I gasped when the little girl walked over to the black wolf. She started to pet it and leaned into its ear whispering something. She turned around and grabbed my hand.  “Don't worry, he won't hurt us.” Her voice was so soft. She didn’t seem afraid at all as the black wolf came closer to us. I closed my eyes waiting for another attack. I could feel his breathing on my check.  “Open your eyes.” The little girl tugged on my arm.  My eyes snapped open. The black wolf was standing right Infront of me. He was gigantic. His head coming up to meet mine. I may only be five foot one but I'm pretty sure wolves aren't supposed to be that big. His snout poked my shoulder and I winced. His eyes shifted from my shoulder to my face and I swear he looked almost, sad?   “Let's go. He will make sure we make it back to the house.” This little girl had so much faith in a wild animal, but I didn’t have to heart to fight her. If he wanted us dead, he could have already killed us, but he hadn't he seemed more curious about us. Almost like he knew us.  I didn’t think about it much longer. The little girl started to pull me and I knew we had to go. Hell, I should be the one leading her. But if I'm being honest after everything that’s gone on, I'm exhausted. Training is easy because you aren't actually fighting for your life. When you're in a fight like this it is literally do or die. We managed to make it back to the house with the black wolf as our escort. When he was satisfied, we were safe he turned his back to us and let out a long deep howl.  “He’s thanking you.” The little girl said while tugging on the sleeve to my shirt.  “Why?” I asked completely dumbfounded.   “You saved me and helped other people.” I just nodded my head. The wolf turned to us one last time before joining the others in the fight. I slammed the door shut behind him.   “Where are your parents?” He blue eyes lit up with pride.   “Out in the fight with the rest of my family.” Kid, your family is nuts.  “You can come with me then.” I led her up to my room, making sure to lock all the doors on our way. I know they could probably get in if they wanted to but it’s a piece of mind thing. Once we were safely locked in my room the girl crawled onto my bed completely carefree.  “What's your name?” She opened her eyes a little before answering me.  “Abby.” One word. That was all I got before sleep overtook the small child. I can't really blame her I was exhausted too but I refused to go to sleep until I knew we were safe. I took a quick look out the window and couldn’t believe my eyes. If it weren't for the destruction you would never have been able to tell that this place was basically at war just moments ago. I almost jumped out of my skin when there was a loud bang from downstairs. Someone had broken down the door to Tora’s room. I heard the door for the stairs slam open with a little too much force. One more door until whoever it was could get us.  I walked over and hid by the door. I was ready to quiet literally through myself at whoever it was. When the door slammed open hard enough to break it off its hinges I jumped. I hit wherever my hands could reach not wanting to open my eyes. Then I heard his voice.  “Jesus woman! Would you stop hitting me.” My eyes snapped open. The first thing I saw was surprise. Leos eyes were wide. I untangled myself from him before looking over to the bed.  “What the hell was all of that and why the hell did you break down my door. You could have just knocked you knucklehead.” My voice came out in a hushed whisper. Abby somehow slept through all of the noise. I wasn’t going to wake her up by yelling at Leo.  “I can't answer that. As for your door, would you have answered if I just knocked? After everything you just saw we both know you wouldn’t have. Are you okay?” He said just a quietly. His eyes racked over me stopping at my shoulder, arm and leg.  “I’ll live.” I chose to ignore him about my door because he was right and I didn’t feel he deserved an answer.  “Yeah, I figured you would. I trained you for things just like this.” HE was smirking as if this was actually funny.  “Leo, this isn't funny. We were attacked. BY f*****g wolves of all things. That is something you never trained me for!”  “I never thought I would need to.” He whispered this even quieter, his eyes looking down at the ground as if he was ashamed.   “It’s not a big deal.” I gave him a small smile. As much as I want to hate him right now, I couldn’t bring myself to. He was my best friend, the guy who trained me to kick ass so I never felt week or helpless again. Not after learning my story. I just never knew he would play apart in that story. “Can I ask you something?”  HIs eyes shot up to my face, his head nodding so fast I'm surprised he could stand. Sometimes he reminded me of a puppy. “Of course, wait does this mean you’re talking to me again?”  “For now.” I said while rolling my eyes. “What do we do now? What do I do with her?” I looked over at Abby who was still sleeping peacefully.   “First, you are going to the doctor. Second, we will take Abby to her room. Third, I will take you to see Destiny. Lastly, we will get you something to eat. Before you protest, you might not be hungry right now but you will be when the adrenaline wears off.” I closed my mouth. He knew exactly what I was going to say. So, I did exactly what he said. I grabbed Abby, carrying her on my good side. Leo of course protested to this and said he could take her. I asked him if we could take her to her room before going to the doctor and he was no leading me to her room. I was pretty surprised when he stopped next to the door that led to my room. I mean my old room? I don’t know what to call it.   After tucking her in and making sure she wasn’t hurt Leo led me to his father. As we neared the doctors wing the noise got a lot louder. When we turned the corner, my mouth dropped. Linning the long hallway were people, all of whom were injured. I shouldn’t be surprised with how many people were here considering I knew firsthand how bad the wolves wanted to hurt us.  “You might be waiting a while.” Leo whispered in my ear.   “Thats fine the bleeding has mostly stopped.” I answered back truthfully.  “How about I just patch you up and we can get some food. It would give us some time to talk.” The question is, am I really comfortable being alone with a guy who betrayed me. If you would have asked me a month ago, I would have told you I knew everything about Leo, but now I feel like he is a complete Stanger to me. I slowly nodded my head. That was all he needed before he grabbed my hand and took off running. We ran through the main hall where Leo suddenly stopped and it felt like I had run into a brick wall. When I looked up Tora was staring at me with another weird look in those blue eyes.  “Cam, Are you, all right?” I smiled at Destiny.   “I’m fine.” I heard a scuff before Tora slammed his hand down on my shoulder. A gasp left my mouth before I could stop it.  “What the hell!”   “Stop trying to act tough!” Tora’s eyes had done that weird thing where they change to black.  “Maybe if you had left me back at home I wouldn’t have to! If I was back home, I would be in my bed happily reading a book. Not bleeding or fighting off f*****g wolves! While we are on the subject, what the hell just happened!?” Tora just looked at me blankly before turning and walking away.  “Oh Leo, I just came from Abby’s room. She said that you and Cam helped her.” Destiny had a huge smile on her face.  “No ma’am. Cam was the one that saved her during the fight. She also watched over her while we were all busy.” Leo was smiling down at me and I couldn’t help but to smile back. This seemed to make Destiny even happier as her smile grew more.  “Cam, that’s the first time I've seen you smile since you got here!” She wrapped her arms around me tightly, seeming to forget that I was injured. “Thank you for watching over my daughter. I don’t know what I would have done if she had gotten hurt. Abby absolutely loves Tora, so I assume that’s why she went outside.” I don’t know why it shocked me that Abby was Tora’s sister, they had the same eye color and delicate features, maybe because she was nice and he isn't.  “No problem, she honestly took care of me just as much. Destiny, not that I don’t love this hug, but could you let go it hurts.” Her face turned white at my words. Before I could protest, she was lifting my arms and twisting body parts as if she was looking to see just how bad the injuries were.  “The bleeding has started up again. Why aren't you in the hospital wing?”  Leo and I looked at each other before he decided to answer. “It’s really busy with everyone injured.” Destiny nodded her, lost in thought.   “Leo was actually going to tend to the wounds himself, so that we could hang out with each other for a bit. "I gave Destiny another smiles to show her that I was actually happy about this one thing.  “Okay sweetie but make sure you get something to eat.” She gave me a quick hug and a small peck on the cheek before whispering thank you again. Then she was pulling her hair up muttering something about helping out in the infirmary.  That’s how Leo and I ended up in the kitchen. I was currently sitting on the counter while he cleaned the bite on my leg. He kept muttering little things to himself as he worked. My head snapped up at the sound of giggling. Tora and Lena had just walked in. They didn’t seem the least bit interested in the idea of food. Instead, they made their way over to the liquor cabinet that was in the corner of the room and found themselves a table. I let out a hiss as Leo poked at another spot of the wound.  “What's the verdict doc?” I hissed out as he continued to poke my leg.   “Well, you aren't going to lose the leg.” I let out a small set of giggles before he continued. “The bad news however is you will need stitches. I’m going to have to run to my dad's office to get the supplies and some medicine for you.” I nodded my head and he turned and left me alone still sitting on the counter.   “Are you okay?” I look at Lena who stood on the other side of the counter looking concerned.   “Yeah, just need a few stitches.” She let out a very feminine gasp.  “Wont that scar? How can you be so calm about stitches? I bet they are going to hurt.” Her eyes grew wider as she let her mind wander, most likely about the scars I would have.  “Yes, it will scar, but that isn't a big deal I have plenty of them. I have gotten a lot of stitches in the last five years. Also cuts and bruises and broken bones. They really don’t hurt that bad.” I stared into her eyes to show her how honest I was being. Tora came over and grabbed her hand lovingly.   “Is that all you talk about? The day you got hurt.” He said in the rudest tone he could muster.  “Yeah, kind of. I mean it was the worst day of my life. The day I basically lost my life not only because your men almost killed me but because you took everything from me. Since that day I have shaped myself too not be afraid of you. Why do you think I got those broken bones and scars? So, if I ever saw you, I could defend myself. So, that I wouldn’t be afraid of the demon that has always lurked at the back of my head. You want me to hate, fine it's not like it's hard for me. Now if you don’t mind, I would like to get cleaned up and go to sleep. It has been a long day of fighting for my life.”  Tora grabbed my arm roughly in his hand either not noticing the pain on my face or not caring. You could have at least grabbed the non-injured arm you d**k head. “Can you shut the f**k up for once in your miserable life. Just because you can't let go of things you don’t understand doesn’t mean you should drag the rest of us down. I’m glad you hate me if I have to, I will make it my mission to make your life a living hell.” He was in my face sneering down at me. His blue eyes swirling with different emotions. Hate, love, anger, sadness and hurt. I pulled my arm free and cradled it to my chest.  “Go f**k yourself.” I jumped down from the counter and limped to the front door. I had decided that I was leaving. There is no reason for me to stay in this house. I won't get the answers I want, even with my free passes, so there isn't any point. I would rather get lost in the woods and die then be stuck here with that asshole. I don’t even know why he hates me so much. I don’t know what my existing has done to him.   Toras face was in front of me in an instant. He was even angrier now with those strange black eyes of his. His hands shot out and gripped my wrists hard enough to leave bruises. “Where the hell do you think you are going?” His grip getting tighter with every word. His fingers that wrapped around my small wrists were turning white with the pressure he used.  “Anywhere but here.” I said back quietly. I didn’t want my voice to break from the pain he was causing me. Even the bite marks didn’t hurt. I could barely feel the tingles that I felt every time he touched me, because of the pain.  “Are you stupid? We were just attacked and you want to go running through the woods? Why?” His blue eyes searched mine.  “I would rather be attacked by wolves then by you. Do you not realize that you are hurting me right now? Can you not see the bruises that are already starting to form? Have you stopped to realize that I haven't even gotten patched up? I was willing to give my life for your flesh and blood tonight and you don’t even know. Why should I stay somewhere I am obviously not wanted, not happy at?” My eyes met his and I made sure to show no fear.  “I did know you saved her. I was there.” His hands released my wrists. His eyes never left them as he continued to speak. “You are wanted. No one ever wanted you to leave in the first place. You had a family in all of us here before your parents betrayed us. No one can make you happy here except yourself. I have told you more than once, now that I have found you, I wot ever let you go again.” I didn’t say anything else to him as I walked back into the house. If I was going to be a prisoner here, I wanted to be as far from Tora as physically possible. Instead of going to my room inside his room I went to my old bedroom and collapsed on my bed. Leo found me soon after. He made quick work of patching me up and giving me the proper medicine. He sat on the floor next to my bed playing twenty questions with me. I got to learn more about a man I thought I already knew. He questioned me on the bruises on my wrists since he knew I didn’t have them when he left the kitchen. I don’t know how long he stayed with me before I fell asleep, dreaming of blue eyes.
