I woke up after thirty minutes and didn't see Landon beside me. I went to the mirror in the bathroom knowing I would look all puffed up and red. My guess was true, my cheeks were bloated and rosy from crying so much, my nose was red and my eyes were swollen twice its size.
I washed my face to remove the gruesome image from my head. The cold water felt good and calming against my skin and I breathed in relief. Using a towel, I wiped the water from my face and stepped out of the room. First, I called Landon’s phone but heard it ring on the bedside table.
