Chapter 1:Companion

Have you ever stopped to think about how your life could be? What would your destiny be like? And what if you didn't want to be like others, and your wolf only sought its freedom! I just wanted to run in the forests all over the world, swim in the sea, and continue my studies for my eternity!

It has always been my dream, but as everyone says, dreams are for the chosen ones of the mother moon, and I am not!

My name is Elara Lupin; I am a marine biologist and love what I do with all my being! My wolf is passionate about the sea like me; we complement each other in a unique way, even our thoughts are alike.

I am a werewolf, part of the pack led by Alpha Alden Lycan the Tenth! He is a serious alpha and CEO, always taking care of the pack. We are living in a city on the coast of the pack's territory; we have a lot of oil on our lands, and that's what keeps our economy turning for the normal world, the humans!

Humans have no idea who we are; they just think it's an organized city! If they knew the truth, I believe a war would begin – that's our duty, our first rule: to keep the human world in the dark, as always!

Our city is extremely restricted for humans; we don't sell houses, rent buildings, or apartments! Even commerce is controlled by us wolves. We only open the city for events, and today there's going to be a big one!

Guess who the special guest speaker is? Me!

I was forced into it. I don't like the public eye; I don't like standing out in the pack. I always stay hidden. During mating season, I go to a cabin in the forest, farthest from the city, where I stay hidden until the season passes. Right on the oil platform, I stay. The fear of finding a mate or someone wanting to dominate me is greater than everything!

But today, there's no escaping it. I won't be able to run; I'll give a lecture on my research and how it's helping our marine and land preservation!

I left the oil platform; I have a study center here! I have my little corner of peace, and when I want to dive into the sea, I just step outside – the sea is my backyard!

Did I mention that I love my job!

I put on a black dress, something formal that doesn't reveal my body – I don't want eyes on me! Although I can't hide much; the mother moon was generous with my beauty, giving me blond hair like sunbeams, almost white, and eyes as deep blue as the sea, skin like milk!

Here on the platform, I wear a uniform, always with my hair tied up and wearing protective gear – I become invisible to everyone. But today, that's going to change. Mother moon, hide me from the wolves; I don't want a mate, especially now that I'm in my prime at 21!

I left, taking the boat to the coast; everyone was already looking at me. I felt a chill run through me, my wolf telling me something was going to happen. I hate feeling this; she's always right!

I entered the captain's cabin; he smiled as soon as he saw me. "Hello, my girl, how are you?" Captain Helton smiled.

"Fine, and you?" I smiled back.

"Well, you look so beautiful and different today. It's your day, so show everyone why you're here and stop hiding. Our pack has good wolves to take care of you!" I immediately shifted the focus; I don't want any wolf!

"Okay, let's change the subject!" I said, feeling uneasy.

"Elara, you need a mate at 21. Everyone your age has bonded with wolves, and you hiding from them – do you really think they won't see you today? Your parents wanted a good future for you, and you need to fulfill their last wish!" Helton, always giving me a lecture and bringing my deceased parents into the conversation to tug at my emotions!

"We've arrived!" I said, giving him a kiss on the cheek and leaving.

"This girl is incorrigible!" Helton said, watching Elara run...

Elara went straight to the event building, unaware that this would change her life, that her destiny would completely shift today!

She went on stage, delivering the images for the lecture, then descended and stood in the front row, where the speakers of the event would talk!

Soon, the venue filled up, cameras and humans everywhere! As it was a global event, it was crucial for the wolves not to reveal themselves today!

The event began; the opening was announced, and the CEO disappeared onto the stage. Elara had never seen him so up close; she could feel his alpha energy. She lowered her head, as did all the wolves.

When Elara Lupin looked up, she saw Alden Lycan. He was looking at Elara, and she felt a restraint, a shock running through her body. It seemed like the alpha's eyes were devouring her alive!

Elara gripped the armrest; her wolf was howling inside her. She couldn't lose control, not there. She closed her eyes, focusing and asking her wolf for restraint.

When she opened her eyes, Alpha Alden was standing in front of her. He had descended from the stage while she had her eyes closed.

"Control your wolf before I claim you as mine!" Alpha Alden whispered in Elara's ear. She felt the threat in his words; she wanted to run away, but she couldn't.

The alpha went back on stage, opening the event and highlighting technological advancements and environmental preservation as their priorities.

"Now, let's bring to the stage our Biologist Elara Lupin to explain her projects and developments this year!"

Alpha Alden called Elara; she went on stage with trembling hands, took the microphone, and stood face to face with her alpha. Her heart raced, and her body warmed as if catching fire!

"Thank you, CEO Alden!" Elara said in a voice as sweet as a perfect symphony.

The alpha distanced himself with great effort, sitting at his table behind Elara. She began greeting everyone...

Elara was struggling to control her wolf, exerting all her strength, but her wolf screamed to be released, wanting to assume its form in front of everyone.

As Elara's lecture was concluding, she heard the sound of claws scratching behind her, and her heart raced!

She turned quickly and saw her alpha's eyes, yellow turning red – he was losing control too!

Elara finished the presentation; the alpha was now behind her. As he approached, she caught a scent of wood and chocolate, intoxicating her, her instincts heightened and drawn towards him!

The alpha took the microphone, almost breaking the table in an attempt to control himself. The humans were by his side, oblivious to what was happening!

Once Elara finished, Alpha Alden stood up and nearly stumbled with the scent of sea and sun he sensed – a sweet breeze, something he had never experienced before. His body went into shock; with each step, his veins burned more and more.

Alpha Alden announced the next speaker, a foreigner...

Elara took the opportunity and ran off the stage while the alpha was occupied!

She headed for the event's exit, running as if her life were in danger, fighting against her own wolf, who cried, wanting to go back!

"Stop fighting, surrender, he is ours, he is my mate!" Elara's wolf shouted, adding to her panic.

"No, not the alpha!" Elara grabbed a motorcycle parked at the back of the building and raced toward her forest!

She knew she couldn't show up; she was going to hide!

Elara arrived in the forest after an hour on the motorcycle. She ran as a human among the trees, climbing, jumping into the river to erase her scent, reached the lake's shore, grabbed mud, and covered her entire body, trying to disguise her scent. Then, she ran towards her cabin!

Elara reached the cabin and went to the basement, where the scent is harder to detect.

She took a shower, put on a white dress, combed her hair, and lay down on the bed, hoping her Alpha Alden would forget about her.

But her wolf screamed with all its might, "He is mine, he will find us, no use hiding, he saw us, and now we are his. He is ours."

Elara shouted at her wolf, "Stop talking. I won't allow it. I'd prefer death over having Alpha Alden as a mate. Forget about his reputation."

The wolf cried...

Elara checked the time; the event was over. She began praying to the mother moon, "Moon Mother, don't let him find me. I want my freedom; I need a mate, someday, but not him – the cold wolf, emotionless, cruel, and to top it off, ravenous, devouring the females of his pack. Moon Mother, not him, please."

Elara had her eyes closed, pleading...

But something happened; Elara's body shivered, then she heard a threatening howl, a hunting howl. The second time, the howl grew louder and closer!

Elara pulled the blanket closer in fear!

Then the worst happened; she heard a noise upstairs in the cabin, something opening the door.

"I can smell you, your fear, and even more, your wolf calling mine."

Alpha Alden spoke with his deep and powerful voice.

"Elara, show yourself now. Your alpha is giving you an order."

Elara's body rose; she couldn't disobey her alpha's command; it was in her nature!

Elara opened the basement door and climbed up, facing the alpha. He looked her up and down.

"Beautiful and mine," the alpha's eyes were red. Elara knew it was the alpha wolf speaking, not Alden's human side.

"You are mine," the wolf shouted louder...

Tears streamed down Elara's eyes; fear consumed her.

Alpha Alden approached, placing his hand on Elara's waist.

"I don't want to force you. Be mine," the wolf tried to sound gentle.

Even though Elara didn't want it, she knew she couldn't stop her alpha, especially with her wolf crying. So, Elara closed her eyes and let her wolf take over.

The wolves smiled as they saw each other. "My mate," the alpha wolf said, kissing her.

Elara's wolf responded to the affection; the alpha wolf lifted her and carried her to the bed in the cabin.

"Will you be my mate?" Alpha Alden's wolf asked.

"Yes, my mate," Elara's wolf responded...

Elara was silent; she couldn't speak, lost in a trance, feeling shocks through her body, the woody scent, and the warmth consuming her. She couldn't explain, but it was so unique and good that she wanted more. Eventually, Elara surrendered to desire!

The wolves lay on the bed; Alden assumed control, and Elara did too – they both needed to consent!

"Elara," the alpha whispered…

"Alden," they kissed. The alpha always looked into Elara's eyes during their kisses; they had a blue sparkle like the sea. He was drowning in this overwhelmingly good feeling!

"You are mine, Elara," the alpha said, lowering his kisses and pulling down the strap of Elara's dress. She sighed!

Alden was yearning for her; his body was calling to her. He couldn't resist and tore her dress with his claws, exposing her beautiful body, ample breasts, and intimate parts!

The wolf growled; he was thoroughly enjoying the sight...

Elara felt embarrassed; she didn't know how to act. Alden noticed her demeanor and change of gaze!

"Are you a virgin?" the alpha asked.

"Yes," Elara said, eager to be consumed. Her body was on fire for her destined mate!

"How old are you?" The alpha was incredulous.

"21 years old," Elara said.

"How did you manage to stay unmated?" The alpha was curious; he had never encountered a woman like her!

"Running away, hiding my scent, only returning to the city after the mating season," Elara explained. The alpha smiled even more...

He started kissing his mate's belly, moving the kisses downward, reaching between her intimate parts!

Elara began to growl, moan loudly; her instincts took over. She pulled her mate's hair and held onto him, eliciting moans from him!

Elara had her first orgasm in her mate's mouth; he smiled, removing his clothes. Elara shivered at the sight of the size of her mate's member.

"I'll go slowly," Alden said tenderly, raising his body over his mate, kissing her, squeezing her hands beneath his.

Alden entered her, claiming her as his own. As he neared his climax, the alpha howled, baring his teeth and biting his mate's neck. Their connection was made, and Elara was in ecstasy with her mate. After Alden finished his bite, he licked the wound, sealing and healing his mark on his mate!

Elara's wolf took over, pulling her mate's neck and biting him. She intoxicated herself with his sweet blood, then sealed the wound by licking it!

The wolves howled together, announcing their mating!
