Family

Elara ran towards the forest, passing everyone as if she were fleeing from hell! She reached the motorcycle and headed to the port. As soon as she arrived, she saw the captain's boat... "Captain, please, take me away from here. I need to get back to the Oil Platform now!" The captain looked at me... "My girl, I can't believe it. I heard everything. Come on, I'll take you home!" Elara and the captain left the port. When they were approaching the platform, Elara began to cry. It was so desperate that the captain stopped the boat! "Daughter, don't be like this. I know you'll figure everything out. Alpha isn't that bad. I know he'll take good care of you. Besides, now you have a pack. We all protect our Luna. It's in our blood. You have the mark of Alpha Alden!" "Yes, he claimed me as his own. I couldn't say no because my wolf succumbed to desire, to the connection we have! I hid for years for nothing. Now, look what happened, an Alpha?" Elara poured out her uncertainties in her heart to the captain, especially after seeing that woman at her mate's feet and how he did nothing when she treated him as a lover! "I always knew you would be something greater than your dreams. Keep remembering who you are and how you got here. It was your effort, your strength, and the love you had for your family. Besides, I'll always be here!" The captain hugged Elara and continued the path to the platform. Once they arrived, Elara went up and headed to her Marine Institute, entered the password, and ran towards her room! Elara went to the bathroom and took a shower. She looked at her body, full of healing marks, only showing how her night had been with her new mate. She left the bathroom, put on her most comfortable pajamas, and lay on her bed. She was so tired and with so much sadness in her chest that she just wanted to sleep and not remember anything. Elara closed her eyes, and sleep came; as soon as she slept, her wolf found her in a dream. It lay at her feet while Elara watched dolphins swim along the shore of a beach. "My other half, don't be like this, for there was no way to stop it. We were bound by the Mother Moon, and there is no greater connection than that!" "You betrayed me, chose the love of a wolf over mine. This can't be real. You were always with me. We planned to see the world, to have our freedom, but you gave up everything for him!" "Don't speak like that, Elara, not my other half!" "You took away my freedom, and I can't forgive you. Just leave me here. Now, my only freedom is in my dreams, away from all of you!" Elara's wolf heard the pain in her other half's words but did as she asked. She ran along the beach sand until she disappeared. Elara stayed in her dreams, savoring every minute. She truly fell asleep and rested. Upon waking, it was already night. She went to her kitchen, made a snack, sat at the table, and looked at her phone, filled with congratulatory messages and expressions of happiness. In the pack group, there were gossips and photos of Alpha Alden running with his lover in his arms. An epic scene. Her wolf howled in anger; jealousy consumed her. "Okay, when you see your mate, complain to him!" Elara sipped her juice and went back to bed. She had many things to do, but she just lay down, turned on the TV, and started watching movies. After a few hours, noises began to be heard. Elara got out of bed, went to the window, and saw her mate entering the platform. "Seriously? He never came here! What is he going to do?" Elara was on fire; with every step her mate took closer, her wolf called to him. "I'm tired of this lack of control!" Elara complained to her wolf, but she was clever, ran to the door, and locked herself in! "Oh, you're not coming in here. I'm not in the mood for that, wolf. Calm down, or I'll lock you up!" The wolf howled so loud that the pain was felt by the mate on the other side, who howled in fury! "Elara, open the door now. I don't feel like knocking anything down, especially with so many omegas watching!" Alpha Alden spoke in whispers, but for some reason, Elara could hear him! "Go away, I want peace and rest. Go to the arms of your lover and leave me alone!" Elara said in fury, banging on the door and denting the metal. Alpha Alden became so enraged that he broke the door, tearing it off and throwing it into the sea! Elara snorted in anger... "For the Mother Moon, I won't have peace anymore!" "You are my mate. You will stay by my side, and we are leaving now!" Alpha Alden picked up Elara in his arms; she began to struggle, hitting the back of her mate. "Put me down, you i***t! Now!" Elara shouted; the omegas looked around at the entire commotion! "Behave like my Luna, or I will punish you in front of others, and you will be humiliated!" Alpha Alden threatened Elara; she felt the coldness in his words and fell silent! When they reached the boat, Alpha threw her to the ground. Elara quickly got up, and her anger overcame her. She pushed him forcefully, throwing him off the boat, and Alpha Alden fell into the sea, howling in rage! "Elara!" Alpha Alden shouted! "This is to learn not to give me orders and treat me equally. Now, we are mates. I won't bow my head to you or anyone else!" Elara knew she was challenging her mate, but he needed to know that she wouldn't let him dictate to her or humiliate her! Alpha Alden jumped back on the boat; the captain rushed to the shore as fast as he could! Alpha Alden didn't look at Elara. When he reached the shore, he walked to his car, and Elara followed him. Before leaving the boat, she hugged the captain. "Until later," she said to the captain, feeling a tightness in her chest. Elara got into the car without speaking to Alpha Alden. They passed through the city center to the more upscale area, where the beta properties and the Alpha's mansion were located! Elara couldn't believe the extravagance she was seeing. Were the entrance gates made of gold? She pondered over the golden glow she saw! Elara wasn't ready for what was about to happen. When the car stopped in front of the mansion, she was mesmerized, not by its size, but by the fact that she didn't belong in that place! "Come on, my family is waiting for you!" Alpha Alden said in a harsh tone. "You know this isn't necessary, right?" Elara said, uncomfortable with the situation. "Don't embarrass me!" Alpha Alden told his Luna. "Okay, that will be impossible. You dragged me here in pajamas, forgot that part!" She pointed to her outfit. "This was your fault! Next time, just listen to me and don't make a scene!" Alpha Alden smirked sarcastically at his Luna. "Then act like an Alpha and not like a child wanting a toy. I am a being, a werewolf, not your mistress who doesn't even respect my presence. Just to warn you, this is my wolf's fury, she knows the laws!" Elara walked past the Alpha with determined steps. The laws of the Mother Moon cannot be broken. If a wolf's mate betrays them after marking, the lover's blood will be spilled on the earth, and their soul sent to the darkness, where they will never find peace and happiness! Elara stopped in front of the grand golden doors of the mansion. They opened, and she looked at a beta man who lowered his head upon seeing his Luna. "Lady Luna, welcome to your home!" The beta said, making way. Alpha Alden took his Luna's hand and pulled her towards a side door. When he opened it, it led to a large room with some people at a dining table. "I've arrived, family. I apologize, but I need to change clothes and will be back soon. Had an accident on the boat! Elara, meet my family: my mother Solin, my sister Fen, my uncle Kaliston, my aunt Esther, and their son, Thalles. I'll be right back!" Alpha Alden left his Luna alone, and Elara didn't know what to do! "Hello, everyone, and sorry for the intrusion into your lives, but I didn't have a choice!" Elara spoke, venting. Everyone looked her up and down. "Wow, so beautiful. Where have you been hiding?" Thalles spoke with a disturbing glint in his eyes! "Look at your manners, son. She is our Luna!" Alpha Alden's uncle, Kaliston, reprimanded his son. "Okay, come on, Luna, sit here next to me. I want to know everything about you!" Elara's mother-in-law gently took her hands and placed her in the chair. Elara sat in the chair, urged by her wolf, as she was eager to run away from there and go far away. This house, these people are not her family! "Calm down, Elara. Let me take over. Don't make our mate suffer. We have to stand by his side!" Elara's wolf pleaded. Elara sighed, calming herself, but she didn't let her wolf take control. She was afraid of appearing as something she wasn't, losing trust in her wolf and making her sad with her behavior!
