chapter eight

The little girl, no older than five, sat wide-eyed in the homemade bed, her eyes wide with a mix of caution and curiosity. She was small and delicate, her skin free of any blemishes, her hair a shimmering cascade of gold, her eyes a deep, luminous blue. Her aura, however, was anything but frail. It pulsed with an energy so vibrant, so powerful, that it rivaled the very essence of the alpha wolves themselves. It was an aura of pure magic, of a power that was both alluring and intimidating. “Amara?” Kai asked, his voice softer than usual, his gaze gentle as he tried to soothe the child’s fear. The little girl, her gaze fixed on the alpha wolves, her eyes shining with a mixture of curiosity and fear, remained silent, her lips pressed into a tight line. She quietly observed them for a minute, remembering all that her mother had told her. Taking a deep breath in, she knew they were not rogues. Kai, his instincts telling him that the child was important, reached out a hand, extending it towards the little girl, hoping to reassure her. “Don’t be afraid,” he said, his voice laced with a rare vulnerability. “We mean you no harm. We are Luna Rosalie's sons, and we know your mother Ivy.” The little girl, her eyes fixated on Kai's hand, hesitated for a moment, then, with a trembling hand, she reached out and took his hand. The moment her fingers brushed against his a surge of energy pulsed through him, an ancient energy, a primal connection that resonated deep within his soul. The alpha brothers stood stunned by the sudden shift in their connection to the little girl, exchanged a surprised glance. The girl was more than just an innocent child; she was something…special. They felt it in their bones, in the very essence of their being. She was connected to them, to their past, to their destiny. And they, in turn, were drawn to her, their instincts telling them that she was not just a child but a part of their own story. A story that was only just beginning. "She is not only Ivy's child, but she is our mate." In that moment, the little girl in front of them became her world. They would do anything for her, be anything for her that she needed. They would have a destiny with their mate. It was just not going to be how they had imagined. As a child, they would be her protector, guardian, friend, and confidant. Their bond would grow, develop, and change as she grew. The wind started to almost sound like a howl as it started to blow. The sound of the wind echoing in the trees, a chill seeped into the air, and quickly began to spread. The chill in the air seeped down to their bones. It was like natures reaction to the violence that had occurred. "Wolfie," the little angel in front of them said. Hearing her speak and the fact that she already seemed to know their secret left them stunned and warmth filled their heart ,hearing Amara's voice. Clumsily, due to sleep, the little girl rose to her feet and outstretched her arms. "Wolfies' my Wolfies'" "We need to get her in and out of the cold. Both of them." Nickolas said. The brothers all nodded and agreed to start their way back to the pack lands. Alpha Kai stood and swiftly scooped her up in his arms, causing her to giggle. Nickolas bent down and picked up the bed carrier, and they started back on their journey. They thought about shifting, but the idea was quickly nixed in fear for unintentionally harming their young mate. "Mama." Amara cried in Kai's arms as they reached back to where she lay. Jayson bent down and checked her. "She is alive, but we need to hurry." Jayson said as he carefully picked her up into his arms. Mom come to the infirmary, and as you do have everyone go to their private areas. Kai mind linked Why? Is everything okay? Is something the matter? Please just do it. I do not want the whole pack to be overwhelming You are scaring me, but I will do ask you ask Thank you, mother. Alpha Kai mind linked. The triplet Alphas looked to each other and sighed. This was going to be a very emotional night. They also wondered of their packs' reaction when they shared the news, although it wouldn’t change a thing. Once they made it to the pack house, they made their way straight to the infirmary. Taking a deep breath, they entered the infirmary wing. The only thing that could be heard is the echo of their footsteps in the hall. They stopped short as they saw their mother pacing as she nervously talked to herself. “Mother, there has been a Rogue attack on the southern border. The mom was severely injured. However, we found her child, a little girl. It was almost like the stories her scent was cloaked, and when I went searching as I approached, a cloaking spell fell away, and it was then that I found her.” Alpha Kai said. As she finished, their mother’s gaze was fixed on them. "There's more it is Ivy she is gravely injured and im holding little Amara." Kai explained. “Oh heavens no. oh my, let me see her.” Their mother gasped as she rushed over. Reluctantly, Kai placed his little mate into his mother’s waiting arms. "That’s not all.” “What else?” Rosalie asked, but her question stopped short as she noticed the twinkle in her sons’ eyes as she looked at them, more so when they looked at the little girl in her arms. “You have imprinted” “yes mother. You are holding our mate in your arms.” Alpha Kai confirmed.
