Hephizbah's POV
I stood up to hug him, tears running so fast from my eyes. "Zed, Kate broke the glass water to hurt herself, I swear I did not do it." He pulled me to his chest, patting my back.
"Heph! Stop trying to act innocent. "You broke the glass water yourself and used it to stab Kate's neck," Newton yelled bitterly.
"I want you to apologize to her so it won't jeopardize the relationship between Kate's family," he continued.
He tried to pull me away from Zed's arm, but Zed pushed him to the floor. "I won't allow you to do that." "And she won't be apologizing," he fired back.
"What?" Newton screamed.
"Remember, this is my first house, not your house. "I want you to leave this minute and never interfere," Newton uttered sharply, but Zed stood watching.
"Zed, don't make it difficult for her," he pointed at him. My eyes gazed at Zed, pleading never to leave me here alone.
"Let me apologize on her behalf. "And also help you to treat those wounds," he looked at Kate. She took a deep sigh, still holding her neck.
He picked up the iodine in the first-aid box, and poured all of it on her neck. She quickly jerked off the sofa.
"Newton, this burns so well," she cried bitterly. I pulled Zed back, confused at what he was trying to do.
"What are you doing?" I whispered slowly, so scared.
"Stay back," he replied sharply, then turned in his direction to her.
"Do you feel okay or hurt?" he asked angrily. She cried bitterly as the bandage on her neck was soaked.
"This is the last warning I will give you two. "Stay away from my girlfriend," he said, his voice so deep and tense.
Newton held Kate so tightly, not knowing what else to do.
"Or I would do worse than that. "I don't care if this is your house, but I will make sure that nobody is spared when they hurt her," he threatened them badly.
I knew I was in a great mess after this with my mum, but at least I wouldn't be apologizing to Kate. I wiped my tears as I stood behind Zed.
He threw the iodine bottle on the floor, walked toward me, patting my messy hair.
Our eyes looked at each other, not saying anything as he wiped my tears.
"What... why... would you... I...?" I stammered, the words refusing to form in my mouth.
"Shhhh," he closed my mouth to silence me.
"I was worried about your safety after you left with Newton," he said, still looking into my eyes. He kissed my forehead.
"You're such a playboy," I chuckled, butterflies filling my belly. I felt saved in his hands. Not just saved—I felt peace.
"No, I'm not a playboy, but a hockey player," he said, still adjusting my hair calmly.
"And also not a killer. "I just wanted to scare them from hurting you again," he said softly, moving me away from them.
"Let's go somewhere that would make you smile," he looked at me.
"But I..." he held my lips while he shook his head.
"Not a word. "You don't need to sit up there writing in your diaries," he mocked jokingly, smiling so hard.
I smiled, glancing at Newton to see that he was treating her wounds properly as she lay on his legs.
I took a deep breath, moved my eyes to Zed.
"Okay, I will be right back shortly," I nodded, then walked upstairs to my room to take a good bath.

In a flower shop,
I looked around to see beautiful vases kept in every corner of the building. I moved from one to another, perceiving each fragrance.
"This is lovely," I inhaled deeply, my eyes shut.
"Do you like it?" he asked, moving closer, his voice so soft.
I smiled hard, nodded my head.
"You can have it," he said, lifting it up and handing it to me.
I looked around for the owner of the shop, but I didn't see anyone.
"Where's the owner of the shop?" I asked, still looking around. He said nothing but stared at me.
"What?" I widened my eyes, still searching for the owner.
"What if I tell you that I'm the one handling this flower shop?" he smiled.
I froze, not knowing what to say.
"You mean you are a worker here?" I asked, still shocked, while he nodded.
"Not possible," I quickly dropped the flower.
"It's yours. "I got it for you," he tried to place it in my hand, but I moved backward.
"Please," he pleaded.
"You never told me.... this, or I thought..." I stammered, felt disappointed.
He took a deep breath, placed the flower in my hand. But I dodged it.
"I think it's high time that I reveal myself to you since you insisted on taking the flower I gave you," he said, his voice so low.
"I'm a worker here," he shuddered his shoulders.
I widened my eyes, stunned by his words. I couldn't do it.
"You must be joking, sort of," I laughed so hard.
