The Message That Shook the World

642 Words
Rain hammered against the streets of Eryndor City. The bright lights of Arden Grand Hall faded behind Kairo as he walked alone through the darkness. Not once did he look back. The divorce papers were signed. The marriage was over. And the promise he had kept for three years had finally ended. A cold wind swept through the empty street. Kairo lowered his gaze to the glowing phone in his hand. > OBSIDIAN HEIR STATUS: ACTIVE The message remained on the screen. Silent. Simple. Yet powerful enough to terrify people he had never met. His expression didn't change. But somewhere far away— the world was already moving. --- Thousands of miles away. Inside a heavily guarded underground facility. Red emergency lights suddenly flashed across a massive control room. Dozens of operators froze. Warning alarms echoed through the chamber. One of the analysts stared at his screen. His face turned pale. "T-That's impossible..." Nearby supervisors rushed over. "What happened?" The analyst swallowed hard. His trembling finger pointed toward the monitor. On the screen were three words. > THE HEIR RETURNS The room fell silent. A senior commander immediately stood. "No..." Another officer whispered. "After all these years?" The commander grabbed his communication device. "Activate Protocol Black." "Immediately." The entire facility exploded into motion. --- Meanwhile. Inside a luxurious penthouse overlooking the ocean. A woman sat alone beside a fireplace. Silver-black hair. Sharp eyes. Dangerous beauty. Lyra Voss. Leader of the Crimson Veil Intelligence Network. One of the most feared information brokers in the hidden world. A notification suddenly appeared on her tablet. She glanced at it casually. Then froze. For the first time in years. Lyra smiled. A genuine smile. "So..." she whispered. "You're finally back." Her eyes sparkled with excitement. The hidden world had spent years searching for him. Years chasing ghosts. Years wondering whether he was dead. Now they had their answer. Kairo Vale was alive. And everything was about to change. --- At the same time. Inside a military fortress located deep within the mountains. A towering man stood before a massive digital map. Darius Kane. War hero. National icon. Future ruler. Or so he believed. An officer hurried into the room. "Sir." Darius frowned. "What is it?" The officer hesitated. Then spoke carefully. "The Obsidian signal has appeared." Silence. Darius slowly turned. The room temperature seemed to drop instantly. "Say that again." "The Obsidian Heir has been identified." The officer lowered his head. Darius stared at the screen. His eyes darkened. "So the ghost returns." A dangerous smile appeared on his face. "Interesting." For years he had been building an empire. Preparing for war. Gathering power. Now the only man capable of threatening those plans had returned. Instead of fear— Darius felt excitement. At last. A worthy opponent. --- Back in Eryndor City. Kairo continued walking through the rain. His phone vibrated again. Another message appeared. This time from an unknown sender. > THE HOUNDS HAVE BEEN RELEASED. > THEY KNOW YOU'RE ACTIVE. Kairo stared at the screen. Then deleted the message. Without hesitation. Without concern. As though the warning meant nothing. Because perhaps it did. A black luxury car suddenly emerged from the darkness. The vehicle stopped beside him. The rear door opened automatically. A nervous man stepped out. The man immediately bowed. Deeply. Respectfully. Fearfully. "Young Master." Kairo stopped walking. The rain continued pouring around them. "Speak." The man lowered his head even further. "The world has learned of your return." Kairo's expression remained calm. "And?" The man hesitated. Then answered. "Everyone is moving." For the first time that night— Kairo smiled. A small smile. A dangerous smile. "Good." The man felt chills run down his spine. Because he suddenly realized something. The hidden world believed Kairo's return was the beginning of a crisis. They were wrong. It was the beginning of a war.
