LAZZARO
She was taking too long. She was supposed to have been out. I glanced at my wristwatch. She had been there for over fifteen minutes. What the f**k was she doing in there?
“Alma.” I groaned, knocking on the door.
My brows furrowed when I didn’t get a response.
“Alma?” I called again. But I was met with the same silence.
f**k.
“Alma, if you don’t open the door now, I am breaking in.” I groaned.
I didn’t even wait for a response before I began to violently hit my body against the door to take it down with my body weight. Suspicions began to rise up within me when I didn’t hear her screaming or trying to open the door.
“f**k!” I groaned out.
The door detached from its frame, making a loud thud as it collapsed on the floor. I rushed inside, horridly going from stall to stall in search of Alma. But she was nowhere to be found.
My eyes landed on the open window, and I immediately knew that she had ran away.
Fuck! How did I allow that woman to outsmart me?
My nose twitched, my muscles tightening as rage coursed through me. I would find her and make her pay for this.
Turning around and marching out of the restroom, I pulled my phone out.
I called one of my men who was stationed outside the building.
“Alma has gone missing. How did you let her pass?” I groaned into the phone.
“What?!” he exclaimed in shock.
“If you don’t find her, all of you are dead!” I groaned, before hanging up.
How the hell did she escape without them noticing her? It didn’t matter if they found her or not. They were dead either way.
The necklace I had given to her before coming here wasn’t for decoration. I had a tracker installed in it for times like this. She could never run away from me. She was mine, until I was done with her.
As I rushed towards my car, I pulled out my phone and went straight to the tracker app, checking for her location. Currently, she was on the move. But she wasn’t moving in the direction of her father’s manor where I had expected.
Where could she be headed to?
Without hesitation, I turned on the ignition of the car, driving at high speed in the direction where she was headed. She was going to pay for making me go through such stress. She needed to f*****g get it. No one was going to save her. Not her father. No one.
The thought of what I would do to her, how I would make her pay, is making my c**k hard with arousal. I couldn’t wait to fondle that soft ass of hers that was making me go crazy. With her consent of course. Hell, that woman was as stubborn as she was sexy.
Mario’s call came in.
“Boss. What happened? Carlo just told me that she’s missing,” he said from the other end when I picked up.
“Yes. But I am following her.” I groaned.
“Where are you?” he asked. “I’ll join you.”
“I’ve got this,” I said and ended the call. I didn’t need an entire army to capture a little spoiled brat.
I looked at the tracker again and realized she had stopped moving. That only prompted me to drive faster before she made any stupid decision. I didn’t know what was in her mind when she thought she could run away from me, but I was going to find her and teach her a lesson she would never forget.
I was closing in on her, but I couldn’t see her or any other car on that street, except for one truck loaded with concrete blocks.
What the f**k was happening?
I swerved to the side of the road and jumped out of the car, allowing the tracker to lead me to the f*****g truck.
“Oh, thank f**k. The truck broke down and my phone’s battery is dead, can—” the man standing next to the truck began to say, but I cut him off.
“Have you seen a lady? Hazel eyes. Chestnut brown hair. Golden flecks. Average height. Italian?” I asked him.
His brows furrowed. “No, I...”
Before he could finish his sentence, I pulled out my gun and pointed it at him.
“Lie to me and I’ll pull the trigger. Where the f**k is she?!” I groaned.
He raised his hands in surrender, his whole body trembling.
“I... I... I don’t know what you are talking about.” His lips quivered in fear.
I moved closer to him, wrapped my hand around his neck and pushed him hard against the truck.
“Lie to me one more time and I’ll f*****g blow your head off.” I groaned, pointing the gun to his head. “Where the f**k is she?”
Intense fear saturated his eyes, his body continuing to tremble under my hold as he said with a shaky voice,
“I swear I don’t know what you are talking about. I haven’t seen any lady at all. I was just delivering these concrete blocks when the truck broke down. Please don’t kill me. I swear I don’t know anything.”
My gaze subconsciously shifted to the blocks arranged on the truck, and I caught sight of the emerald green stone shimmering under the moonlight.
“Fuck.” I groaned as I instantly released my grip on his neck and pushed him aside.
Climbing onto the back of the lorry, I reached for the necklace and snatched it up before jumping back down.
Fucking smart brat.
I clenched a fist, the already burning rage coursing through me intensifying as I punched the truck hard. The metal caused a sharp pain to shoot through my hand, but I didn’t f*****g care. This was the only f*****g lead I had, and I blindly followed it, not knowing she had outsmarted me again.
I was beyond livid!
“Arggggh!” A loud scream echoed through the air, and before I knew what was happening, a pair of hands grabbed my waist from behind, pushing me to the ground with him.
Fucking truck driver.
I quickly rolled over until I was on top of him. He tried to push me off, but I was quick enough to point the gun to his forehead.
“I wasn’t going to kill you, but you have left me with no choice.” I groaned.
Fear saturated his eyes, his lips trembling.
“Please spare me. I was only trying to survive.”
“You made the worst mistake of your life.” Just as I c****d the gun, the sound of my phone ringing distracted me.
His f*****g lucky day.
I promptly jumped off him to receive the call. Lamberto was the caller.
My jaw clenched as I answered the phone.
“Yes?”
The truck driver picked himself up and ran away, but I didn’t bother to stop him. He was the least of my problems at the moment.
“I just heard that my daughter is missing. I swear to God, Lazzaro, if anything happens to her, I will f*****g kill you!” he growled, his rage pouring through his voice. “I give you six hours to look for her and find her. If you don’t, then I’m bringing war to your doorstep. I don’t care whatever leverage you have against me.”
“You can’t threaten me, Lamberto. And get the f**k out of my phone!” I groaned and ended the call.
Immediately, I called Elias–one of the skilled hackers that worked for me.
“Hack into the surveillance footage of Casa Di Luce restaurant and the buildings surrounding it. Between 8:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. I need the footage of a girl jumping out of the restroom window. Chest nut brown hair. Black sequin dress. Make it snappy.” I instructed before ending the call.
Wherever she was, I would find her and make her regret in ways that she never imagined.
