We were wading in the water in the river again. All of us had our pants up above our knees and our shoes and socks were on the bank. We had come out farther than we should for the third time this week.
We probably shouldn’t be in the river at all since it was right on the border of the pack and sometimes rogues liked to get near packs’ borders just to cause trouble. But we had border guards which kept them away mostly and if anybody saw us they’d be able to tell we were Alpha’s kids and hopefully get scared and run.
It was a week til our birthday and this arrangement with Parker had been working out well. We would meet him out back of the packhouse at a tree about 20 feet away. We’d told him we had a lot of alpha training and that we could only hang out after dinner.
