As nightfall approached, I found myself busy in the kitchen, preparing dinner for the entire household. My sore neck had finally healed, and I was grateful to be free from the discomfort. As I finished cooking, I set the table and called out to everyone to come and eat. I wasn't exactly looking forward to this task, as it always felt like a chore to me.
I made my way to Alpha Taylor's room first, knocking on the door to announce that dinner was ready. We are coming, he replied gruffly. I knew that meant he was with the Luna, and I wouldn't have to disturb them further.
Next, I headed to Josh's room, knocking on the door, but there was no response. I sighed, knowing that Josh never answered the knocks on his door, yet he always complained when someone barged in on him. Dinner's ready, Josh! I called out again, but still, no reply. I opened the door and called out his name, but he wasn't on his bed. Strange, I thought. Where could he be?
I heard some noise coming from the bathroom and wondered if Josh might be in there. But when I called out his name again, I only got a muffled "Ugh" sound in response. My curiosity got the better of me, and I slowly approached the bathroom door. If Josh had been in there, he would have yelled at me to leave by now, but the silence was unsettling.
I pushed open the bathroom door, and what I saw took me by surprise. Josh was indeed in there, but he was not alone. He was sitting on the edge of the bathtub, his head in his hands, and someone was kneeling beside him, holding his hand. It was a girl, with long, curly brown hair and piercing green eyes. She looked up at me, and I felt a jolt of recognition.
Who are you? I asked, trying to hide my surprise.
I'm Sophia, she replied, her voice soft and gentle. Josh's mate.
My eyes widened in shock. Josh had a mate? I had no idea. And who was this Sophia person, anyway? I felt like I had stumbled into something private, something I shouldn't be seeing.
Sorry to intrude, I muttered, backing away slowly. I just came to tell Josh that dinner is ready.
Sophia smiled and nodded. Thank you, Lorraine. We'll be right there.
I quickly exited the bathroom, my mind racing with questions. Who was Sophia, and how did Josh end up with a mate? And why was she being so nice to me, when I had just barged in on them? I couldn't wait to find out more.
Josh! I exclaimed, my eyes widening in shock. I had not expected to see him in the bathroom, let alone in such a state. He was completely naked, water dripping down his body, and his hand wrapped around his crotch. I quickly looked away, my face burning with embarrassment.
What the hell, Lorraine?! "Josh exclaimed”, his voice filled with surprise and anger. I apologized profusely, trying to explain that I had called out to him several times and had not received a response.
I'm so sorry, Josh. I thought something was wrong, and I only wanted to let you know that dinner is ready. I'll just take my leave now, I said, trying to quickly exit the bathroom.
But Josh's strong grip on my arm prevented me from moving. I didn't say you could leave, he said, his voice low and menacing. He pushed me against the wall and stood in front of me, his naked body mere inches from mine.
Please, Josh. Let me go. I still have to call your sister to have her dinner, I pleaded, trying to reason with him. But Josh's eyes had a killer look in them, and I couldn't believe he had any good intentions towards me.
You walked in here without my permission, but you won't be leaving unless I say so, Josh said, his voice dripping with malice. "Perhaps I do need someone to help me finish up.
He pinned me against the wall, his greedy eyes running over my body. I tried to push him away, but he was much stronger than me. My wolf was still asleep, and I was on my own.
Please, Josh. Let me go. I'm sorry for barging in on you, I pleaded, trying to appeal to whatever humanity was left in him.
But Josh just grinned, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light. Why did I not ever notice, Lorraine, how beautifully you've matured? He said, his voice dripping with lust. It
He traced his hand down my neck, and I shuddered at his touch. I knew I had to get out of there, and fast. But Josh's grip was like a vice, and I couldn't move.
Whatever it is you were doing, “I said”, trying to sound calm, but my voice was shaking with fear. Josh's hands were moving towards my bust, and I could see the lust in his eyes.
They've matured so beautifully, he said, his eyes rolling over my body like a hungry lion. I felt a surge of adrenaline and tried to push him away, but he was too strong.
Stop, Josh, please, I begged, struggling to break free from his grip. But he just pinned my arms up against the wall, his hands like vice grips.
You scream, Lorraine, and I'll tell everyone that you barged into my bathroom to try and seduce me, Josh sneered, his eyes gleaming with malice.
"That's untrue!" I protested, but Josh just smirked.
"If I'm the one saying it, then it's true, Lorraine. And no one will care about what you have to say. You're only a servant, after all," Josh said, his voice dripping with condescension.
I knew he was right. Who would believe the word of a servant over that of an Alpha's son? I continued to struggle, but it was futile. Josh had me pinned, and I couldn't escape.
Just as he was about to touch me again, Luna's voice called out from downstairs. "Lorraine!!"
Josh stared at me for a moment, then finally let me go. "You're lucky Mum called. We'll continue this another time, Lorraine," he said, his eyes glinting with menace.
I quickly dashed out of the room, speed walking downstairs to meet the Luna. I was shaken, but I knew I had to compose myself. I couldn't let anyone see how scared I was.
Lorraine, what's wrong? The Luna asked, noticing my distress.
Nothing, Luna, I replied, trying to sound calm. I just...I need to get back to work.
The Luna looked at me skeptically, but she didn't push the issue. Very well. But if you're sure you're okay...
"I am, Luna. Thank you," I said, forcing a smile.
As I walked away, I could feel Josh's eyes on me, burning with desire. I knew I had to be careful. I couldn't let him catch me alone again.
I walked into the dining room, where Luna Kathleen was already seated with Alpha Taylor. She looked up at me with a scowl on her face.
"Have your wolf gone deaf, Lorraine?! Do I need to call you severally now before your stupid self can finally respond? She bellowed.
I apologized, feeling a sense of dread wash over me. I'm sorry, Luna. I was just about to call Josh and Chloe for dinner.
Luna Kathleen's expression turned even more sour. "Why the hell haven't you called them out for dinner yet? You know we eat as a family every night."
I explained that I had already called Josh and he was on his way down, and that I was about to go to Chloe's room to fetch her. But Luna Kathleen wasn't having it.
Well, go and get Chloe then, and be fast about it, Lorraine. Make sure you get her down here. It's been a while since she had dinner with us, she commanded.
I quickly ran back upstairs to Chloe's room, feeling a sense of relief that I was escaping Luna Kathleen's wrath for the moment. Chloe was the only daughter and the last child of Alpha Taylor and Luna Kathleen, and she was unlike anyone else in the mansion. While everyone else seemed to take pleasure in putting me down, Chloe was too busy with her makeup and her appearance to bother me.
I knocked on Chloe's door and she called out for me to enter. I found her in front of her vanity, surrounded by makeup and hair tools. She looked up at me with a smile.
Hey, Lorraine. What's up?” she asked”.
Luna Kathleen wants you to come down for dinner, I replied.
Chloe sighed and rolled her eyes. Okay, I'm coming. But can you help me with my hair first?"
I nodded and helped Chloe with her hair, feeling a sense of gratitude that she was the only one in the mansion who didn't treat me like dirt. As we made our way downstairs, I couldn't help but wonder what the rest of the day had in store for me.
