***The Aftermath***
When Emily woke, she was on a med-barge, Cassius scowling beside her.
“You fried every circuit in the city,” he said. “And yourself.” He nodded at her hand.
Emily looked down. Her right arm was bandaged, the skin beneath burned black. The dagger was gone. The fissure, too.
“Kaven?” she croaked.
“Gone. Syndicate’s scattering like roaches.” He paused. “Why’d you, do it?”
She stared at the horizon, where dawn bled through the smog. The dagger’s voice was silent now. But in its absence, she felt… peace.
“Had to balance the scales,” she said.
Cassius snorted. “You’re a terrible liar.”
But he stayed. And when the med-barge drifted into the sun’s glare, Lena closed her eyes, the ghost of a smile on her lips.
Ravenwood was safe.
For now.
***Dagger's Reckoning***
Months have passed since Emily closed the rift and destroyed the Dagger of Raven. Ravenwood has been rebuilding, but the aftermath of the incident still lingers. Emily's reputation as the one whi saved the city has earned her a new nickname, "The Dagger's Guardian"......
Cassius, her hacker friend, has been working on a new project, a way to track down the remaining Korons Syndicate members and bring them to justice. Emily has been helping him, using her skills to take down the Syndicate's remnants.
But when a mysterious message from an unknown sender arrives, Emily starts to suspect that the Dagger of Raven isn't gone for good. The message reads:
"Meet me at the old clock tower at midnight. I have information about the dagger's twin."
Emy is intrigued and decides to investigate. At the clock tower, she meets a stranger, a woman with piercing green eyes and a scar above her left eyebrow.
"Who are you?" Emy asks.
"My name is Aria," the woman replies. "And I have information about the Dagger of Raven's twin – the Dagger of Erebus."
Emily is stunned. She thought the Dagger of Raven was the only one of its kind. Aria explains that the Dagger of Erebus is just as powerful as the Dagger of Raven, but it's been hidden away for centuries.
Aria gives Emily a cryptic map that supposedly leads to the Dagger of Erebus.
Emily is torn – should she trust Aria and pursue the Dagger of Erebus, or should she leave the past alone?
