We got back to the packhouse, took Jane up to the alpha floor, and to the private living area, then sat her down. I look at Lari, and she looks at me as she begins.
“Jane.” She sighs, “Umm, Dad is going through a change right now.”
“Is that why the doctor was there?” Jane interrupted.
“Yeah…” Lari starts again and again Jane interrupts.
“What happened to Daddy? What kind of change?”
“He, umm, he… Well, his wolf gene is active. All his senses have awoken.”
‘OH. My. God. Is he changing into a werewolf?” Jane asked with eyes wide in surprise.
“That…we don’t know,” I added. “But the chance like with Lari is very high.”
“Wow, so why am I here? Why can’t I go home?” She asked, looking from Lari to me.
Poor Lari turned red as she tried to explain. “Because…Umm…” She
