The chirpings of the birds made me open my eyes a little and my face broke into a tiny smile when I realised that Adonis was nowhere around today. I saw him leave the academy yesterday night and I could not tell the kind of inner peace I felt. Finally, there was no one to make a mess of me again and I was glad. Maybe the lord was on my side now, I could have some peace and quiet.
A gentle knock resonated on the door and I turned my attention to it.
