Chapter 14 - Heaven is a place on Earth

GRACE POV

 I am in heaven. I’ve been drifting in and out of consciousness for a while, but I knew I must be in heaven. There is no other place in the world where I would feel this good.  I am warm, cozy, surrounded by some sort of divine smell. It was woodsy, with a faint touch of smoke. All together, it was intoxicating, and I wanted to drown in it. As parts of my body were slowly coming back to life, I snuggled closer to Logan and..

“Finally, you’re awake! Open your eyes so I can see our mate! I’ve been waiting for you to wake up like fore-e-ever..!” A voice in my head said. Panic got me jumping out of bed, or at least I was  trying to do it. Two strong arms were wrapped around me in a second. 

“Shhh, it’s me baby. Logan. Don’t be afraid. You curled up next to me at some point and I didn’t want to move you and wake you up.”

“No, I don’t care about that, I mean, I’m sorry I was all over you. But, there, there was someone else here in the room, like a minute ago. Didn't you hear her?” 

“Oh, Goddess, you are talking about me!” The voice was back. “It’s me. Saaba!”

I’ve turned to Logan: “Did you hear her this time?” 

He was about to say something but was interrupted: “I am your WOLF!! Did you listen to the word Logan was telling you yesterday??” She said angrily. 

“Your wolf?” Logan asked with a raised eyebrow. I just nodded and he smiled. 

“Don’t laugh at me. I forgot this might happen!” I’ve  snapped. 

As an answer, he pulled me closer and kissed my nose. 

“She asks to meet Kor and.. What? I’m not telling him that!!” I could feel blush creeping all over my cheeks. Logan was grinning and I felt the urge to punch him. 

“Tell her that she is aware of the rules and that she has to wait for a few days to meet him. And, I would really like to know what she wants to tell me.” he chuckled when he saw a murderous look in his eyes. 

“Come on. Tell him he is hot and ask him to show a bit more of his skin. Pleeeeeease.” Saaba whined. 

“I am not asking him to strip! Please shut up!” 

Suddenly, Logan burst laughing. 

“What’s going on? Why are you laughing now.?”

“Honey, Your wolf, Saaba, right?” I  nodded and he continued: “Well, she and Kor are mates as well, and they can talk to each other. So she told him to order me to strip.”

I was blushing again: “Can you get yourself a different wolf, the one that won’t embarrass you?”

“Don’t worry baby, from time to time, our wolves are useful. Most of the time, they are noisy pain in the ass, but like I’ve said, they have their moments. Anyway, are you hungry? Would you like to have some breakfast?” At the same second, my stomach rumbled so I didn't see the point in answering. 

I can call someone to bring food up or we can go downstairs and eat in the dining room. If you’re ready to meet some pack members.” he finished. 

“What do you usually do?” 

“Depend on a day really. I do eat downstairs most of the time, a lot of members that live in private houses come here to eat and it helps in keeping contact with them. 

But; I have to tell you, Cil and Carla told me, you’ve been talked about science early morning, so it might be more crowded than usual. “

“What do you mean; why are people talking about me? Nobody knows I’m even here.” 

Logan was laughing again: 

“Baby, one of the first things you have to learn about our pack - they like to gossip. And you and I, as two most high ranked members, well, we will be talked about a lot. Last night, Joana, the one that told you I was coming back - well, she saw you, she told that to a few friends and within the hour, probaby 99% of the pack knew that Luna had finally shown up.”

“Luna?”

Before Logan could answer, Saaba explained: “He is a king, which makes you the queen. Or at least, you’ll become once you’re mated. We will become quite popular, but let me warn you, there might be jealous shewolves. If any of them tries to touch our mate, well, we’ll kill her. Nobody touches our mate.”

“Baby, why is anger written all over your face. What is Saaba telling you?” Logan asked softly. 

“Oh, I don’t know. Simple stuff. Like, I’ll have to kill a lot of women, because you're obviously quite popular among ladies!” I almost snarled. 

He was about the laugh again but as soon as he saw the murdering look on my face said: “Hey, hey, I won’t laugh. I would just like to point out that you’re beautiful when you’re jealous.”

“I am not..” I was interrupted by a soft peck on my lips.

“I’ll grab a quick  shower and we’ll go, ok?” he said and left for the bathroom. 

“Oh, my god, he kissed me! Saaba, he kissed me!”

“I know, I was here!” she replied with a smile in her voice. 

“Can I ask you something? Do you think this thing between us will work out? I just realized that I like this guy a lot. I think I am about to fall in love with him, and I barely know him. So please, please tell me, if I am crazy!”

“No, you’re not crazy. Trust me, and above all, trust Moon  goddess. She knows what she’s doing and I have a feeling that the of you are one of the best matches she has ever made!”
