Three hours of waiting felt like three years of torture. Unanswered questions, unknown past and secrets.
l felt like a fish out water as l waited.
I sat in Garrett’s study staring blankly out the window at the trees while Garrett stood near his desk, pacing back and forth.
Neither of us said a word. The silence in the room was thick and suffocating, that every tick of the wall clock sounded like a hammer slamming into my chest.
It wasn't just about the dna results but also our suffocating past connected to this pack and house.
How am l supposed to make peace with the fact that he gave her everything that was once mine. The house, my place in the pack and everything that l held dear.
The door of the study opened while l was still lost in my thoughts.
