CHAPTER SIX

*Cain’s POV*

Anger surged through my veins like blood would as I watched Belle shift and run back to the house. I was hurt knowing she was hurt by me and my wolf Damien was not happy with me. Why did you hurt our mate he yelled in my head as he cut off our connection. I was however determined to make her submit to my will and I knew just how to push her to her limits or so I thought.

The alpha of the blue moon pack that was to the west of the kingdom has just arrived with his daughter. We had some kingdom security issues to discuss as the presence of rogues are beginning to increase. The blue moon pack held more of the kingdom’s military force as they were strong and fierce when it came to fighting. However since his only child was a female she would be taking over from him as alpha and he hoped to strengthen his political and military power by marrying her off to me hence her presence in my palatial home. I on the other hand had other uses for her which included driving my mate to the edge of jealousy and submission.

Getting back to the house I marched straight to my office and asked to see the chef immediately. “The chef?” Tyler asks confusion laced in his voice as I never concern myself with trivial issues as what to be served at any meal, my mother does that. “Did I stutter?” I ask in reply. Bowing, he immediately went to get the chef.

Few minutes later Tyler walked back in with the chef right behind him. “I want that maid with the ash blonde hair to be serving the table at dinner tonight alone” I commanded realizing I didn’t even know my mates name and I was suddenly hurt by that realization. Brushing off the feeling as I stared at the chef’s confused face “you mean Belle?” he asks “yes Belle” I say testing her name on the tip of my tongue “but it’s her day off” he says. I sent him an angry glare for questioning my orders “your orders will be carried out” he says bowing in fear “and tell her she is to stay in the dining room till she is ordered to go get the next meal” I say with a wave of my hand dismissing him, he bowed again and left.

“What was all that about?” Tyler ask stepping closer to my desk. “Nothing” I reply sounding as careless as possible hoping he couldn’t see past my façade. “Then why the sudden interest in who serves dinner?” he asks again. I decided to reply his question with silence hoping he would interpret it as me just been the usual unquestionable alpha when I heard a gasps “oh my goddess! She’s your mate isn’t she?” he asks but it sounded more of a statement than a question.

“I haven’t announced finding a mate yet and I believe an alpha is allowed to make adjustment in his own home without been questioned”. I reply with a glare at him and he simply gave me a knowing look but nodded. “It’s the alpha of the blue moon pack and his daughter’s first official welcome dinner in an hour, go make sure everything is ready and I want his daughter seated by my side” I commanded as I walked out of my office leaving him there.

Sitting at the head of the table waiting for her to walk in, I was eager to know what her reaction would be when I flaunted Alex in front of her. Soon she walked in sending me a deadly glare which I simply ignored as she came over to serve me and the rest of the people on the table but I knew she hadn’t noticed Alex “This looks truly appetizing. Don’t you think so babe?” I say to draw her attention to Alex who was hopelessly flirting with me. “Yes it does, I couldn’t expect anything less from my alpha" she says placing her hands on my thigh and giving me a flirtatious smile. I smirk inwardly as I saw her bite down on her lips trying to stop herself from growling at Alex “do give my compliments to the chef” I say to her allowing a wicked smile to spread across my face.

Alex kept flirting with me and I flirted back much to the joy of her father and dismay of my mate. I would play with Alex fingers, hair in loving ways that made myself and Damien feel very uneasy but I was able to not show my uneasiness. I watched Belle struggle within herself any time I touch Alex or she touched me. Stop, stop this! You are hurting our mate I heard Damien yell in my head, he wanted to come out push Alex away and comfort our mate but I wouldn’t let him which was why I was now having a headache. I was wondering how much longer it would take for her to give in, growl, throw Alex off me and give into my will when I saw her storm out of the room running and before I could stop myself I was following her.

I saw her run through the kitchen doors to the back of the house, headed to the forest and shift into her wolf, I also shifted and was chasing after her but she was extremely fast and I was barely able to catch up to her. Suddenly she stopped, turned to face me shifted back to human form “you! How dare you, how dare you!” she yells as her eyes started to shine, the air around us became tense but not from anger but like a new force was in the forest with us.

The light in her eyes began to she brighter and I could have sworn I saw the moon move closer as I still in my wolf form was suddenly lifted off the ground and air began leaving my lungs. “You’ve given me nothing but pain since I’ve met you and I regret meeting you” she was still yelling this time tears was pouring from her eyes and with each drop that left her eyes I felt the air leave my body.  

“You are my mate you are supposed to love me the way I am. You are supposed to accept me. You are supposed to make me happy. Why won’t you huh why don’t you want me?” she was saying still angry. I wanted to say something wanted to explain that I wanted her but I couldn’t talk I couldn’t say anything and darkness was beginning to engulf me. Then the light in her eyes started fading and her eyes returned to its normal color as the moon returned to its original position. The air became less tense and I was slowly able to start breathing again. Still trying to get my lungs functioning properly I saw her look at me with pain, hurt and a little fear in her eyes before she started heading back to the house on two foot.

I stayed there replaying what just happened in my head. How at her intense anger she exuded powers no ordinary wolf could, how my extra strength as alpha was completely useless against her. I suddenly remembered how she was able to flip me over effortlessly on our first meeting, how she was able to shift with her clothes on, how she had pushed me off her today sending me flying in the air, and now.  I was flooded with the realization like my brains where opened for the first time, that my mate was no ordinary wolf.

*Unknown POV*

It has started, she has finally started activating her full strength, my beautiful, beautiful Belle. I had been watching her from the time she was taken to that orphanage, I watched her grow. She didn’t know, nobody knew what she is except me. She thinks she’s like the rest of them but she is not and that stupid mate of hers doesn’t know that either.

Now the time has come to put my plans into action, I had waited years for this and that stupid alpha, her mate, has already made things easy for me.

Nobody can stop me now belle would be mine, the kingdom would me mine
