Flynn couldn’t always keep Tony at a distance. The recovery period didn’t last long. Tony got the drains removed after less than a week and had to wear a special compression vest for another week after that to reduce swelling. Flynn was able to use the excuse of not wanted to exacerbate Tony’s wounds for about a month. Then Tony got the okay from his doctor to go back to work, so long as he had someone else lift and bag heavy objects for him. That meant his work at the pet store was limited to office duties and some maintenance. It made him stir crazy, and that meant he wanted to blow off steam with Flynn.
“I still say you should take it easy,” Flynn said five weeks after the surgery. Their friendship had survived so far, although he had given into Tony’s pleadings for pleasure
