Ethel and Louise stood steadily, side by side in front of the canvas, while the tall artist painted a portrait of them. Leah and Leon stood far apart in a corner just like the rest of us, grinning with pride. They had turned fifteen the day before and alongside with it came another portrait, just like every other year before this one.
