A WEEK LATER
I stood in front of Leon, Leah and their entire council. I was beyond nervous and my palms were sweaty. The past week had been a rollercoaster ride and I had faced quite a lot. But I still struggled to remain focused on my goal. I had to present myself before Leon and Leah and tell them of my decision to plead my case. Leah looked at me like I had killed someone and I felt so hurt, knowing how much I had betrayed her trust. I couldn’t count on our friendship ever rising from the ashes, but I was grateful for the time we had spent as friends. They agreed and dismissed me, saying they had to have discussions with their council. It was just like Willow had said.
