The Devil She Must Love. Chapter 1. Jenny's POV. Our rental is just a few steps away from the road. Its amidst a long block down and up as the road runs. Its strategically located in the suburbs of town. Its a tomb old neighborhood, serene and quite. We love it here. Just outside the door is a small roofed space fitted with a mahogany furnished porch. Some swinging jiggles by the door, hanging loose chained vessels with roses growing in them; porch plants. Some few steps from the door mat off the front shade, runs down a seven staircase on to a brick pathway that outs to the oak canopied tarmac road. The oak trees does provide real awesome shades in summer time. I smile to the scenery as I taking in a velvet smell from neighborhood flowers. "Miss Jen!-" "Yes sweetie." I answer, taking a turn to my neighbors young one. "You look like a princess. Probably like Queen Elizabeth." She complements my fitting. "Ooh! Thank you Van." I appreciate her words. She is a lovely kid. So innocent and full of life. She reminds me of the younger me back in the '90s. "How are you doing today?" "Am fine. When are you gonna take me again to the carousel?" She asks with a timid voice. "Oh sweetie. Can we plan it this weekend?" "It's weekend already. Does that mean we are going?" "It's already evening am afraid, plus I had other plans for today. I have to meet someone to set something's straight. I am sorry poppy." "When then?" "Next weekend maybe-" "I will suffocate of waiting. It's a week away from now." "Come here baby girl. Come?" She scurries down their staircase round my small flower garden and gets to me by the lane. I squat to her level. She's got this angelic face, well combed hair and held in p*ssy cat little buns. She is in a jean baby romper and in my palm size rubber shoes. She smiles broadly and outstretches her baby-little arms to hug me. She wraps them round my neck's back and leans forth her head for me to kiss-greet her. It's kinda our thing. "Don't you worry poppy. I won't fail you. I will strike the date with your picture on it. That way, I won't forget." She smiles with satisfaction. Am glad she loves the idea. "Where is your daddies?" "In the house. You should come for dinner, we are having scrambled eggs, toasted bread and white coffee. Some cereals too." She smirks. "Woow. Thank you for the invite but-" A car rides near. "-look, here's my ride. I have to go Poppy. Love you. Give your daddies my best." I chastely plant a kiss on her cheek. Its so soft and tender. As I wave her unlocking the Uber's door, she blows me kisses and I blow right back. One of her daddies; Mr Terry moves a curtain inside their house and with a cute smile waves me off as I hope into the cab. "Town square please." "Right away ma'am." The mid aged driver responds. He hits the road.                         ~~~~~.             .~~~~~ "Sleeping baby, wake up!" My annoying baby sister's voice. "What now?" "The sun been up for hours and all you can do is warm your bed. Gosh! You so lazy." "Yeah! Yeah! So are you." "No am not. Am already ready to head out." "Head out? Weren't out all day?" "It's weekend. Of course I were. Now get up!" She tosses my duvet to the floor. I bury my head under the pillow. "Are you a child now?" "Why?" I scream from underneath the pillow. "You hide your face and think you've hide your whole self?" "What do I care." "You do know you can't miss the Gala ceremony!?" "You can stand in my place." "I won't. A done taking bullets for you. Now go have a f*cking shower." "I will have it in the morning." She has been vocal with me of late. She wasn't ever my fun but o don't know what changed. For a moment, its all quiet. I love it this way. Sleep calms my nerves at least. Then the unexpected happens.           *                                                  *                                                    * She hysterically laughs. Out of pain and reflex, I dodge her damn self to the floor. "Are you mad Tricksy?" I mad out at her. "Huh! You pithy now?" "Why would you do that?" "Do what?" Nonchalantly, she applies her make up on. "Why would you water me on bed?" "Did I?" I can feel my face contort and an anger flair in my eyes. "Tricksy." "Mason." "Why did you do that?" "Since you couldn't take a shower, I thought it easy to bring it to you." She swabs some mascara on. "How do I look?" She smirks. "Like a homewrecker!" I spit. "One that you can't keep off your mind. Can you?" "F-you Tricksy." "Don't you ever do that again. You hear me? You here me?" "Okay." "Fine." I unbutton my already soaked shirt and toss it on to bed. "But it was fun. Don't you agree?" "Tricksy!-" "Fine. You need some massage?" "From you- No!" "You sure?" Standing by my bed; she looks at me through the mirror, my glare back at her throws her off. "You better hurry. The gala is snout to start. You can't miss this one." "Why not? I have missed several in the past-" "You did promise dad. You know better than to disappoint him this time round." "F*ck!" I whisper to myself. "Yeah. You were about to be f****d up." "I know. I know." "Will you now take the shower or should i, well, grace you again?" "Stop it. Am going." "I don't see you heading there." "I am." "Hurry up then. The driver is gonna be here soon." After some minutes. "Are you all good in there?" "Of course I am. What do you take me for; a child?" "What's taking you so long?" "Am bathing for f*ck sake!" "No you're not." "Then what am i doing?" She goes quite, I suspect she is rattling my way. "Self stroking!" She popes her eyes once she slides the my bathroom pane door. "Gosh, Tricksy!" I ruffle for my towel and wrap my manly hips. "What the f*ck?" "You, what the f*ck are you doing?" "What do you mean?" "Is that lotion? So you really stroking yourself, huh!?" "No am not! I were f*ckin applying lotion on my skin until your rude and terse action." "I can help you know!" "Are you offering to-" She shakes her head in agreement, her nose a bit contorted. "Hell no. You are my sister." "Doesn't matter- seems you have a problem and am in a position to help." "I don't have no problem." "Dry spell it seems." "Piss off Tricksy. You so annoying." "Am I?" "Quick, I think I just heard the security park down stairs." "Will be down in a minute." "Don't you stand us out. The podium is yours today, remember?" "What? I got no address script." "You're wise. You will figure it out." "Who put me up to that?" "Who else?" "Who?" "Jensen." "What!?" ~~~~~. .~~~~~ TO BE CONTINUED ©Rebecca Silver.
