LOVE IN TRAFFIC

CHAPTER 10 : THE CONFLICT

(I was face to face with Daniel in my living room while I was pinned against the wall with his hand on my neck.)

Daniel : (looks at me angrily) "Tell me, Emily. Is it true that you did it with him?"

Me : "What are you talking about?" (gives him a confused look)

Daniel : (tightens his grip) "Don't play dumb with me Emily. I'm gonna ask you for the last time. Did you do it with Jason?"

(That's when I realized what he was talking about.)

Daniel : "Why are you quiet? Too embarrassed to admit it?"

(I gestured him to remove his hand on my neck because he was hurting me and he let go of me.)

Me : (coughs a few times)

(Daniel went to the kitchen and came back with a glass of water. He sat me down on the couch and gave me the glass. He sat next to me and waited for me to finish drinking the water.)

(When I was done, I put the glass on the coffee table and looked at him. He looked back at me with a sad look, then he looked down.)

(I scootched over to him and put my hand on his shoulder and he looked at me.)

Daniel : (sighs) "Why did you do it with him?"

Me : "Look Daniel. I didn't realize it. I was drunk and didn't even know what was going on."

Daniel : "Still you did it. I can't believe you would choose him over me, like seriously Em."

Me : "It wasn't my intention to sleep with him and also I was out with my friends that time. We just bumped into each other at the club."

Daniel : "Okay fine. (sighs) Look Emily. I'm not trying to make him look bad but he's bad news. Always keep your guard up whenever you are with him. Now that he has felt you, He would wanna do it again with you."

Me : "What do you mean?"

Daniel : (holds my hand) "Well something happened between us."

Me : (looks confused) "What do you mean?"

Daniel : (shaks his head) "You know what, nevermind. I shouldn't talk about it. I have to go now."

Me : "Woah woah woah woah." (gets up) "You are not leaving until you tell me what has happened, and when."

Daniel : (gets up) "I can't tell you anymore. It's really embarrassing to talk about it."

Me : "But......"

Daniel : (starts to walk towards the door) "I'm leaving bye."

Me : "Wait......."

(Daniel shut the door and left while I stood there confused and wanting answers. I was about to call Jason and ask him about what happened between him and Daniel but I decided that I would talk to him face to face.)

(It was almost midnight and I was tired and I had to sleep so that I could be able to wake up early for work tomorrow.)

......................... THE NEXT DAY..................

(I woke up feeling a bit tired. I checked the time and was shocked to see that I was late for work.)

(I started panicking and freaking out while I was getting ready for work. When I was done, I was about to leave when I bumped into Ace on the front door.)

(I looked at him confused and he looked back at me smiling.)

Me: "Hey Ace."

Ace : "Hey. Uhm.......How are you?"

Me : "Fine.... I guess......... How about you?"

Ace : "Same. So, are you going to work?"

Me : "Yeah and I'm gonna be late so if you want or need anything, just do it now and fast because I'm gonna be late."

Ace : "Can we go together? I mean the restaurant you work at is just across the street from the company I work at."

Me : "Well...........actually.............."

(Just when I was about to finish my sentence, a car stopped in front of my yard and Ace looked confused and a bit angry. Jason came out of the car wearing a traffic cop uniform.)

Ace : "Who is he?"

Me : "It's Jason."

Ace : "Why is he here and how come I don't know about him?"

Me : "I'll tell you more about him later. Right now I need to go to work."

Ace : "So, he's taking you to work?"

Me : "Yeah."

Ace : "Why him?"

Me : "Because I work for him and he already offered to take me."

Ace : "Okay. Well, I'll see you later."

Me : "Yeah."

(Ace looked upset as he was leaving. I went to Jason and he looked at Ace and back at me with a confused face.)

Jason : "Who was he?"

Me : "He's a friend."

Jason : "Okay. So are you ready for your first day of work?"

Me : "Kinda."

Jason : "Okay. So let's go."

(He opened the door of his car for me and I got in and he also got in and started the engine and drove off.)
