LOVE IN TRAFFIC

CHAPTER 03 : UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTERS

(It was morning and I just woke up. I decided that I should look for a job because I was running low on food and budget. I was also bored and I just couldn't sit down on the couch and watch TV.)

(I took my laptop and went online and looked for job that could accept me without being put on the waiting list.)

(I was still looking for a job ad when I heard a knock on my front door. I got up from my bed and went to the front door while wondering who could it.)

(The knocking continued and it kinda annoyed me a bit. I arrived at the door and opened it. I was really shocked when I saw Ace at the door.)

Me : (looks a little tired) "Hey Ace. What brings you here? Shouldn't you be at work now?"

Ace : (smiles slightly) "Well, yeah but I'm gonna go late today. I just came to check up on you after what happened last night. Are you okay?"

Me : (blushes a bit and looks down) "Well.... Yeah. I mean it wasn't supposed to happen. It was a mistake."

Ace : (smirks slightly) "Okay. If you call it a mistake then it's a mistake but I don't think it was a mistake. Anyways why are you still in your pyjamas? Don't you have plans today?"

Me : "Well I do have plan today, with Jessica."

Ace : (smiles) "Cool. Can I join?"

Me : (laughs a bit) "Sorry but you can't. It is girls only."

Ace : (looks a bit disappointed) "Well. Okay then. I'll see you around."

Me : "See you later, Ace."

(I smiled, then waved at him while he walks away. When he was far away, I closed the door and went back to my room.)

(I grabbed my laptop and continued looking for a job. After two hours of looking for a job, I found one. I found a waitressing job at a restaurant near Jessica's company.)

(I quickly applied for the job and a few minutes later, I got a call from that restaurant and I was told that I should come in for an interview the following day.)

(After hanging up the call, I jumped on the bed with joy and excitement. I didn't even realize that I was on the edge of the bed.)

(While I continued jumping, I missed a step then fell on the floor and it kinda hurt.)

(I got up slowly and decided that I should take a shower before meeting up with Jessica. I was really excited that I would have a job to keep me busy for a while.)

(When I was done, I grabbed my car keys, locked my apartment and drove off to the cinema, where I was going to meet up with Jessica.)

(I thought I was gonna be on time today, but faith had other plans. I was yet again stuck in traffic. I texted Jessica that I would arrive late so if she wanted to watch a movie, she can do it without me.)

(While I was waiting for the car in front of mine to move, I noticed that a traffic cop was walking car to car, checking something and I figured that it had something to do with our driver's license and other stuff like that.)

(I started looking for mine but couldn't find it. While I was looking for it, I heard a tap on the window and he signaled me to roll down the window.)

(I slowly rolled down the window and I was really shocked to see Jason and I sighed a sigh of relief.)

Me : (smiles) "Hey Jason. How are you doing?"

The traffic Cop : (looks confused) "Sorry ma'am but you got the wrong person. I'm Jason's twin brother, Daniel."

Me : (looks at him confused) "Wait. Jason has a twin? I'm sorry for confusing you with someone else."

Daniel : (chuckles) "It's Okay. I get that a lot."

Me : (takes out my ID and driver's license) "Here's my ID and driver's license. You can check them."

Daniel : (takes them and looks at them) "So your name is Emily?"

Me : (nodds) "Yes sir."

Daniel : "So you know my brother? How? And Where did you two meet.?"

Me : "Well we met here and I just knew him like for a short time. I asked him for his number and he did give it to me but I accidentally deleted it. Now I don't know how I'm gonna communicate with him."

Daniel : (hands me back the ID and driver's license) "You don't have to worry about that. You are going to meet him again but I don't know where or how. Anyways, you are good to go." (backs away)

Me : (Puts them away) "Thank you Daniel. Can you tell him that I said hi."

Daniel : "yeah sure. I'll do it."

Me : (Smiles and starts the car) "Thanks."

(I drove off to the cinema as fast as I could so that I don't miss the movie again.)
