CHAPTER 06 : STUCK IN THE ELEVATOR

( I got in my car to cool off before heading home. After I cooled off, I decided that I should visit Jessica in her office to tell her about my day.)
(I got out of my car, and went to the building. I got in and went to receptionist and asked her which floor was Jessica on and she said it was the eighth floor.)
(I went to the elevator and got in. I pressed the button of the floor I was going to.)
(As I waited in the elevator, it stopped on the fourth floor and when the door opened, I froze in place to see Ace.)
(He didn't notice me because he was on his phone. I tried my best to not get noticed by him.)
(while I was hoping he gets off before noticing me, the elevator made a weird sound and stopped.)
(That's when I realized that we were stuck in the elevator. He pressed the emergency button and he was told that help was on the way. When he hung up his phone, he turned around and our faces met.)
(I was feeling awkward and a bit embarrassed. He slightly smiled and got closer to me.)
Ace : (walks closer to me) "At least I'm not alone in this elevator."
Me : (looks a little shakey) "Yeah."
Ace : ( leans against the wall and crosses his arms) "Soo, Emily? What brings you here?"
Me : "I just came to have a chat with my bestie, Jess."
Ace : "Okay. Anything new happening in your life?"
Me : "No. It's just another stupid and boring day."
Ace : (chuckles) "Okay. So about what happened the other day, are you sure it was a mistake?"
Me : (blushes a bit) "Well yeah. It was a mistake. I didn't mean to do it with you. I meant to do it with someone else."
Ace : (looks at me) "Okay. How about we do it now, and we won't call it a mistake."
Me : (eyes widens and my face turns red) "B-but..... you are married, Ace. How can you say that?"
Ace : (smirks) "I know but it will be our little secret. No one will know. Besides, it's just the two of us here."
Me : (my face turns redder) "But...."
Ace : (walks towards me) "What do you say?"
Me : (shakes my head) "N-no...."
Ace : (leans closer towards my face and whispers) "Too late to turn back now."
Me : (closes my eyes and my face was really red) "Think about your wife, Ace."
(Ace's lips were just inches away from mine and I could feel his warm breath on my face and his warmth of his body.)
(He grabbed my waist and gently pulled me closer to him and he kissed me. I was really shocked and tried to resist but ended up giving in and I kissed him back.)
(We kissed each other passionately, and there was nothing in my mind but the thoughts of how wrong I am for doing this.)
(While we were still kissing, we heard a ding sound and we quickly pulled away from each other pretending that nothing happened but my face was really red and it says it all.)
(He looked at me and winked with a smirk and that made me blush even more. The door opened and I quickly ran out of the elevator feeling embarrassed and guilty for kissing Ace even though he was the one who started it.)
(I got to Jessica's office and entered. I quickly closed the door and she looked at me confused.)
Jessica : (looks confused) "Uhh...... Emily? Is everything okay?"
Emily : (walks upto Jessica and sits down on a chair) "Everything was okay, but not anymore."
Jessica : "What is it?"
Me : "I was stuck in the elevator."
Jessica : "Ohh. It happened to you too."
Me : (looks at her) "I was stuck with Ace."
Jessica : (looks shocked) "What!? Did anything happen? What was it?"
Me : (looks down) "We..... We kissed"
Jessica : ( jaw drops) "..........."
Me : "He kissed me first and I tried to resist but I couldn't and he was the one who suggested it."
Jessica : "Giiirrrrllll........ That's so wrong and you know it. He is married and I told you to forget about him."
Me : (looks at Jessica) "I did but he keeps forcing himself on me."
Jessica : "Well you gotta tell........."
(Jessica was interrupted by my phone ringing. I looked at it and a small smile popped up on my face as I saw that Jason was calling me. I answered it and got up from the chair.)
Me : (Smiles) "Hey, Jason. How are you?"
Jason : "I'm doing fine and you?"
Me : "I'm good. So why are you calling me now?"
Jason : "I just wanted to tell you that, congratulations! You got the job. You are starting next week on Monday at 8:30 am. So don't be late."
Me : (looks excited) "Really? Thank you so much! I won't let you down and you won't regret hiring me."
Jason : "I hope so. See you on Monday."
Me : "Okay. Bye" (hangs up the phone)
(I turned around and looked at Jessica with a huge smile on my face.)
Me : "Guess who got a waitressing job at the restaurant across the street?MEEEEE!!!!
Jessica : (gets up from her chair and runs to me) "OMG!!!! that's so great. I knew that you will get the job."
Me : "Now that I have a job, I can call myself an independent woman. After I paid off all my debts but you wouldn't mind if I don't pay you, right bestie!? (makes puppy eyes)
Jessica : (raises an eyebrow) "That won't work on me."
Me : (sighs) "Okay fine. I'll pay you back but in halfs. Wait how much do I owe you?"
Jessica : "It's $10 000"
Me : "That ain't a problem anymore because I can pay you now. Did I tell you that I won 1 million dollars for being the ten thousandth customer in that restaurant?"
Jessica : (looks shocked) "Wait really?"
Me : "Yeah and it's a check. It is in my car right now as we speak.I was thinking of going to the bank and transferring the money into my account."
Jessica : "Then you transfer me the money that you owe me."
Me : (chuckles) "Okay fine. I'll do it."
Jessica : (smiles) "That's great."
Me : "Well.... I have to go now and I'm going to take the stairs now. I don't that to happen again."
Jessica : (laughs) "Okay. See you later."
Me : (waves at her) "Bye."
(Jessica waved back at me and when I left, she continued working. I got out of her office and went to the stairs and used a trick to get to the first floor faster.)
(I slid down the poles of the stairs and I got to the first floor before the person who was in the elevator could get there.)
(I got out of the building, went to my car, got in, started the engine and drove home.)
