iris pov.
I barely slept.
Every time I closed my eyes,I saw him.
Alpha Duncan Blackwood.
His golden eyes, His deep voice, the strange feeling that had exploded inside me the moment our gazes met.
None of it made sense..
I rolled onto my side and groaned into the pillow.
what was wrong with me?
Yesterday money I had been worries about exams and graduation.
And now I was lying awake in the alpha mansion thinking about a man I'd met for less than five minutes.
A man old enough to be my father.
Actually...my eyes widened.
My best friend father.
That made everything worse, much worse.
A knock sounded on the bedroom door, before I could answer, before I could answer, Alice walked in carrying a tray.
" Good morning sleeping beauty."
I sat up immediately," what time is it?"
" nine."
"NINE!"
I practically launched myself out of bed,Alice laughed so hard she nearly dropped the tray.
" Relax! you're not late for anything."
I froze.
right! I was expelled.
My shoulder slumped, that hurt more than I wanted to amdit.
Alice immediately noticed, her smile softened." hey."
she sat beside me, "stop that"
" what?"
"That look"
I frowned," what look?"
" the one were you act like your life is over."
I looked away, because my life was actually over..
Alice nudged my shoulder and she grinned." Besides I have news."
I blinked," what news?"
A dramatic pause. Alice always love a dramatic pause.
I wanted to throw a pillow at her, " Tell me"
" No"
" Alice."
" Nope."
" Alice!"
she burst out laughing,"Fine. Fine."Then she smiled, " the expulsion has been revoked."
My brain stopped working, " what?"
" The letter is gone."
I stared at her, " what?"
"My father officially over turned it this morning."
I continued staring," what ?"
Alice rolled her eyes, "are you planning to say anything besides 'what?'
I jumped off the bed," No."
Then realization hit, " wait!"
I grabbed her shoulders, " you're serious?"
" I'm serious."
" oh my goodness." A laugh escaped me, then another.Before I knew it , I was crying and laughing at the same time.
Alice pulled me into a hug," I told you."
I hugged her tightly," you told me."
" my dad loves proving me right."
For the first time since yesterday I felt like I could breathe again.
By noon, I was sitting in the academy administration building. The same building I had walked out yesterday in tears..
Today felt completely different....student starred as I passed, whispers followed through it.
I enjoyed it a little, especial when I saw the shocked expression on people faces.
A few hours ago I was expelled, now I was back.
officially.
The secretary handed me a sealed envelope. " The Alphas order."
I accepted it carefully, the blackwood seal gleamed in gold wax.
My hands trembled slightly, I had never received anything directly from the Alpha before.
slowly,I opened it Inside was a short statement.
By order of Alpha Duncan Blackwood, the expulsion of Iris Rivera is hereby overturned. Her academic standing and privileges are fully restored.
That was it.
I swallowed hard.
The signature at the bottom made my stomach flutter unexpectedly.
Why was I reacting like this?
It was just a signature.
Just ink on paper.
Nothing more. Absolutely nothing more.
yeah I keep telling myself that.
Across campus, another wolf was far less pleased.
Vice chancellor Eunice blackwood.
The moment I entered her office, I eyes locked onto mine..Pure hatred burned there.
Good.
" you."
Her voice dripped poison, while I offered my sweetest smile.
" Good afternoon vice chancellor."
Her eye twitched.

Tiny victory.
I handed her the alpha letter, she didn't even look at it. " I already know."
of course she did.
Duncan must have informed her personally, that thought alone satisfied me.
Eunice rose slowly, for a brief second I wondered if she might actually attack me.
instead she smiled, " Enjoy your victory while it lasts."
The warning sent a chill through me, but I forced myself not to react.
" Thank you ma'am."
Her smile disappeared.
I turned and walked out before she could say anything else.
Only when the door closed behind me did I release the breath I'd been holding.
something told me this wasnt over.
That evening, Alice told me to spend another night at her house.
well, I didn't want to go, but she pleaded and pleaded saying she enjoyed my company last night.
so i agreed.
The sun had already begun setting when I wandered downstairs searching for water.
I reached the kitchen and froze.
Alpha Duncan Blackwood stood near the counter, alone.
My heart immediately betrayed me.
Traitor.
Duncan looked up, and his eyes found mine instantly.
That strange pull return, stronger than ever.
None of us said anything untill he spoke," couldn't sleep?"
" uhm...A little."
He nodded, and poured water into a glass handing it to me..
our fingers brushed, electricity shot through me that I nearly dropped the glass.
fuck!
" how was your first day back?"
I looked up in surprise, " The alpha is asking about my school day."
one corner of his mouth lifted ," The Alpha is capable of asking normal questions."
I laughed, the sound surprised both of us.
" it was good." I admitted.
" A little awkward tho, people talked..."
" A lot."
Duncan nodded," they will stop"
His confidence was reassuring.
" How do you know?"
" Because I will make sure they do."The answer came immediately, no hesitation, no doubt.
My chest tightened, because no one has said anything to me like this before.
Then realization hit me, we were so close....it was so clear our wolf wanted us to f**k the hell out of ourselves.
He cupped my face with his hands, God only that did a lot to my body. I licked my lips and regretted it already.
Dunacn stared at my lips, still debating whether to kiss me or just let me be. But him and I know we want ourselves so bad.
so I took the first step, I held his shirt and dragged him close.
yep! I'm gonna regret this.
I kissed him and then let him be, only for him to pull me closer to his chest devouring my lips like a snacks.
" Iris " Alice called from Upstairs.
oh my God ! Alice, I was supposed to get her water too.
Duncan stepped back first," we should be careful." He said and left.
I screamed internally...
Did I just?....
Heat flooded my checks, I wanted the floor to swallow me immediately.
I needed a new life, probably a new continent.
Because right now my life just became complicated.
