Chapter Seven Rossburke was enjoying a glass of rum in the drawing room when Joshua returned home from the Bradmore’s dinner. He hadn’t stayed for the ball, he was exhausted enough as it was. The last thing he wanted was to have to entertain someone and be nice. Thank goodness, Jamie didn’t expect anything much from him—at least he’d better not. Jamie stood and pointed an accusing finger at him the moment he walked in the door. “And just where have you been?” Joshua stopped. “Who are you, my father?” “No, I’m your friend who—” “And what the hell are you doing here, anyway?
