Chapter Thirty ~June 1~ Joshua settled himself into the chair opposite Mr. Sherman, who sat behind a large oak desk in his study. He was keenly aware that Gwendolyn was just on the floor above him, sitting with his mother in her drawing room and waiting for him, but he was determined to do this right. “Well, this is a most interesting proposal, Lord Wickford,” Mr. Sherman said, looking over the paper Joshua had had his solicitor draw up earlier that morning.
