Chapter Four- The Escape

The next day was very peaceful at the palace with lots of wedding preparations going on, I worked along the corridor but I noticed they were even more guards in the palace. seems like my aunt is really taking precautionary measures to ensure that I wouldn't escape. I am really going to miss my home but I knew I had to do this. when I got to my room, I layed down on my bed staring at the ceiling when I had a knock on my room door. Maryse, Clary,Malik!!! you guys should hurry up the portal has opened I shouted. Clary quickly jumped into the portal followed by Maryse just as Malik was retreating to jump into the portal an arrow was shot Straight at me but he protected me with his body therefore the arrow pierced through his chest.Nooooooooo!!! I screamed. I looked up to see the face of the person who shot the arrow only to be gripped by fear when I saw it was my aunt. how did she get here so quickly I asked myself this only confirmed my suspicion earlier that she actually knew I was going to try escaping and has her own plans but what she didn't expect was that I would be able to open the barrier because she was probably expecting for the barrier to hold me back. holding the lifeless body of Malik with tear streaming down my cheeks I vowed to avenge him one day.
