‘This’ Sky picked up one of my favourite photos and there was an emotion in her eyes I couldn’t quite put my finger on ‘This is my favourite’.
It was of the day I met the little girl and her grandmother; she was standing on a dusty path outside the family home playing with a goat, in the right-hand side, sitting on the step of the house was her grandmother washing clothes in a bucket, wearing traditional dress, looking lovingly at her granddaughter.
I had managed to capture the intimate playful moment, lighting perfect and focus exactly on point. I wanted that one framed. I told them the story of how I met the family and stayed for lunch. Things like that would never happen here. I really was going to miss that place.
