"Miss Linton can you please move your legs a little faster?" Mr Norman asked clearly annoyed. I nod my head then picked up speed but still manage to fall helplessly behind as he move his long legs briskly across the hall. Curse him!! "Sir could you please slow down a bit." He snorted but faltered his step a little so that I could catch up and fall in beside him. "Thank you sir." I cracked a smile. "Mhmmm. Do you have the contract ready?" I nod. " Good. And my Coffee, do you have that as well?" I nod once again and so does he in approval. As soon as we reach the conference room I open the door for him to move inside while I follow shortly after. Mr James was already here , bickering to god knows who on his phone but luckily for him, he ended the call as soon as he sense our presence. "Richard." He greeted casually with an outstretched hand that Mr Norman took firmly before gesturing him back to his seat. I guess I'm invisible! I place the contract and the coffee on the table then took my seat beside Mr Norman, glaring at the man who as so humbly took it up on himself to pay attention to my legs. "Miss Linton. I didn't see you there." He said wetting his lips as he spoke. It took everything in me not to snort at this man. "That's quite alright Mr James." I gave him a fake smile. "I must say, you look lovely as usual." Yes, I'm sure you must make another one of your unnecessary remarks. "Well thank you Mr. James. I do try." I said as politely as I could. He smiled then finally look up to me. "Indeed, you do." Can't he just leave me alone? "If you guys are finish flirting then I would really like to conduct business." Mr. Norman cut in. "If its not too much trouble, of course."He added bitterly. I frown then put my head down, not being able to believe that he actually thought I was flirting with the old man who-if i must comment, Is old enough to be my father. A perverted father that is. "-Agree with the terms of this contract?" Was the only part of their conversation I managed to catch on. "Yes, but there is one thing I would like that isn't in the contract." Mr. James said. "And what might that be?" Mr Norman voice was dangerously low as though he knew exactly what the man wanted, even without him saying it. "We are all men of the business world and from time to time we need a little fun. So I will sign the contract if you give me one night with the lovely Miss Linton." Mr. James said. As soon as the words left his mouth, I snapped my head up. I was furious and quite taken back by how easily he just threw it in there. How could a person be that perverted and repulsive? My gaze then went and landed on Mr. Norman, eyes now wide at how skillfully he made his way towards him, wrapping his hands around the p*****t's neck. "You should be very careful of what you ask for if I were you Oliver, because you might just get more than what you've bargain for." Mr Norman breathed out threateningly. The veins in his hands becoming stiff and hard. Whimpering and breathing heavily, Mr James floundered in the tight lock he was held in, fighting to be released but gave up the second he saw the grim expression on Mr. Norman's face. Leaning his head so it was inches away from the poor bastard wrinkled face, Mr Norman whispered something against his ear that caused him to gulp then stare at me with pleading eyes. I then begun to have a heated discussion with myself, wondering if I should at least try to help him. Surely I can't just stand here and watch a man being strangled to death. Even if not too long ago, he wanted me to spread my legs for him so his and Mr Norman's company can profit greatly. So without giving it another thought, I nervously made my way towards them, hesitantly placing my hands on Mr. Norman's shoulder. "Si-sir please let him go." My voice imitating that of a scared child. He turned to look at me then closed his eyes, Slowly removing his hand from Mr James neck, causing him to fall to the floor with a loud thud. "Get the hell out of my office!" He yells, pointing to the door while the scared old man scampered to his feet, retrieving his briefcase before speed walking through the door. The entire room was silent for a minute until Mr. Norman broke it with his accusations. "Do you see the consequences of your actions, Miss Linton?" He turns and look at me, clenching and unclenching his fist. I took a step back as he took two steps forward, his emerald eyes now dark and cold. "S-sir how is this my fault?" I stuttered out very confused and a little scared. It was Mr. James who kept making crude remarks, all I did was reply calmly. "Maybe if you weren't flirting with the old hag then he wouldn't of thought that a one night stand with you was up for negotiation!" He scrunched his face up in disgust. "B-but I-I-" he held his hand up, cutting me off. "Don't try to deny it Miss Linton. I saw you, I heard you and what's done is done but listen very carefully to my warning." he grits out, pointing a finger at me. "Let this be the first and last time that something like this ever happens because I can assure you that no one will like the consequences and the dark side of me if history is to repeat itself!" I place my head down, hiding my face. "Do I make myself clear?" I nod. "Do I. Make. Myself Clear Miss Linton?" I nod. " Yes sir." "Good! Now go make yourself useful and get out of my sight." He dismissed me. I walk towards the door mumbling curses under my breath before walking out, closing the door softly behind me. And to think today was my day off!
