My Father and another carry a stretcher through the wide door way everyone falls silent laying on the stretcher is none other than Apollo the War Dog laying on his stomach with a blood soaked bandages on his back. Apollo was unconscious as he was being carried through to our clinic that is located in the basement. I swallow a lump in my throat before taking off down the second floor stairs then running for the clinic stopping as a pack member comes limping into the house with the help of another He was instantly swarmed by everyone with questions then accusations that he's done something or that Apollo had tried to attack him but the Lycan just shakes his head and tries to get everyone to calm down so he could explain but everyone was excited. "Be Quiet! Let him speak!" I shout in a loud demanding tone the chattering comes to a slow stop when the surrounding crowd realizes who it was that spoke, If I am to be the next Alpha Female I have to step in when it's needed and with confidence. The young Lycan who is easily 15 to 16 years old I knew him his name was Stephen, he nods his thanks to me before sitting down on a offered chair resting his most likely broken leg taking a deep breathe. "He saved my life." When he started speaking murmurs from the crowd starts to rise but would die out when I growl at them.
"I was working at the lumber yard. When I cut a tree I was trying to get out of the way but I tripped on fallen limbs and the tree fell on me trapping my leg... War Dog saw this and came running over to help that's when we both heard it the snap sound of another tree falling both of us look and it was falling for me running faster he gets my leg free and throws me out if the way but he couldn't get out of the way fast enough." Stephen finishes explaining his voice held fear for his brush of death and sadness for the one that got hurt. "I could have died if it wasn't for him."
I felt a gentle hand touch my forehead. "Alessia... are you okay?" Holly asks sounding concerned before I could answer everyone's attention looks at the clinic door when it opens and our Alpha steps out with a serious expression looking at the questioning faces of his pack. "Your Luna has our guest in surgery." My father begins explaining when he hears Stephen's worried filled whimpers. "But your Luna is confident that he'll pull through." My father adds the young Lycan nods then is stood up and helped to the clinic as my father looks at everyone else. "Now most of you have chores and jobs to get too... So lets go!" He says a loud commanding tone making everyone disperse quickly as I walk up to him he hands me a large plastic bag when I open it my heart clenches as the smell of Apollo's blood blankets me. "I'm sure he would appreciate his clothes cleaned and fixed... your better at this sort of thing then me." Father tells me placing a loving kiss on my forehead then walking back to the clinic.
Holly grabs my hand and smiles at me when I look at her and she pulls me towards the laundry room. Once we were in the room Holly checks to see if anyone is inside before closing the door that swung inwards and leans on it folding her arms and looking at me. "Okay split it." She was giving me a moment to be honest with my worries and feelings without the pressure of my rising title. I take a moment to set the bag down in front of the laundry rooms deep sink for rinsing clothes then looking at her. "I had a dream this morning... I saved someone from being crushed by a tree... but now I think I saw War Dog saving someone..." I begin explaining has my stomach felt sick and I lean on the sink. "Through his own eyes."
Holly's hands drop to her sides as she holds a surprised look on her face as she tries to process what I had just said. "Woo... that's... I don't know what to say..." She says walking over and rubs my back as I shake my head.
"I don't know what to make of it." I say softly and she pulls me into a hug and rubs my back then looks at me. "Trust in the Moon Mother okay?" She says placing her forehead on mine and smiles as I nod then taking a deep breathe opening the bag of bloody clothes what wasn't soaked in blood we threw in a washing machine Apollo's shirt and coat we had to soak in a cleaning agent and scrub it.
I hear a clink in the bottom of the sink as something fell out of the pocket of the coat it was his many dog tags of different styles and different languages; China, Germany, Japan, and few other's I have never seen or heard of the few I do is because of history class in high school. We both look at the U.S one more closely.
"Apollo37... That's all it says... isn't it suppose to have more information?" Holly asks looking at them all and each one only has one thing engraved on them in different languages. "Looks like our mystery rogue wolf just got interesting."
I take the long chain of dog tags and wash off the blood and set them to the side. "Maybe we'll find out."
After washing and drying the clothes Holly and I sit in the lounge room stitching the holes and tears in Apollo's clothes when a beautiful mocha skin colored, long black hair with some gray pulled up in a bun, and rich chocolate brown eyes woman walks in the room dressed in scrubs brushing hair from my face. "That's nice of you girls I'm sure War Dog will appreciate you fixing his clothes." She says with melodic voice that always calms me. "Thank you mom. How is he?" I ask looking up at her with a soft smile as she sits on the couch with me. "He'll be alright... the damage of the branch entering his back will take a little time to heal fully he suffered some broken ribs luckily no damage to his spine, and a fractured hip but he'll be okay in a few days." She explains playing with my hair as she watches me work on my stitching. Lycans heal much faster than humans but of course it's not like the movies severe wounds take quite a bit of time to heal.
"I'm glad that was a brave thing saving one of our own... it's unheard of, most Rogues don't care." I say looking at the final stitch then folding the garment and placing it with the others. "Yes the Moon Mother as touched him in a special way and to return his selfless act we'll make sure he heals well and he's comfortable. In the meantime I have a few dresses that you picked out for you to try on for your ceremony." My Mother says excitedly then looks at her hip when her walkie goes off. "My Luna! He's awake and he's not happy." A males voice comes over the walkie she wastes no time getting up and taking off towards the clinic. Holly and I look at each other then we run after her both of us slam open the clinic door open following the sounds of angry snarls and growls. "Please calm down! We're just trying to help!" My mother shouts along with another shouting voice it was Apollo's but he was speaking in a language that I couldn't understand but he was furious. "How the hell is he awake already?!" My mom asks wrestling with Apollo when we got to the door, his canines were out and snapping at anyone that got close, he was almost free of his restraints that the nurses and my mom was trying so hard to tighten. The look in his gold eye was hazy and confused he had no idea what was happening and where he was. Sacred he was going to hurt someone or himself I step forward. "Apollo stop!" I yell at him then swallowing a lump in my throat when his beautiful gold eye snaps to me and he pauses for a moment looking at me in recognition panting and growling still seething with anger looking at the other's in the room then back to me I hold up my hands in a calming gesture and walk over to him. "It's okay... You're at my pack house..." I point at my mom. "This is our Luna... Doctor Lila Barch she treated you after the tree fell on you... remember?" I ask standing next to him now my heart pounds in my chest with being this close to him. Apollo looks at me and nods slowly has he remembers and relaxes we all let out a soft sigh of relief. "I'm going to give some pain medicine to help you sleep better... once you're more awake we'll bring you something to eat." My mom says pulling a syringe out he growls at her when she reaches for his arm making pack members tense up but they hold back their hostility, she was able to make the injection and nods her head in thanks then they leave, I go to follow but... "Stay... please?" Apollo's voice stops me looking back at him it was clear to me he didn't like hospitals or hospital settings.
"Sure." I give him a soft smile then bring up the chair that was in the room over next to him and I sit down as he relaxes back into the bed and closes his eye then soon his breathing falls into a steady rhythm of sleep, Holly looks at me and give her a nod that I was okay then she mouths that she'll be back then leaves me to watch Apollo sleep.
