Chapter Eight - Alibis Jane shuddered at the frigid drops of water shooting from the showerhead. Taking much too long to warm up, the water doused her tangled, dusty tresses. Unbidden tears rolled from her eyes, mingling into the stream of icy water like raindrops into the ocean. Waiting for the sluggish water to heat up, she brooded over her afternoon. Her parents had rushed her to Mount Isa Hospital. Not five minutes following their check-in, a mob of reporters and journalists flooded the waiting lounge.
