Chapter Thirteen – Enter the Dragon
Ethan grimaced in discomfort at his devilish golf shirt’s scratchy collar irritating his tenderized nape. Toggling through the corridor cameras, he stretched his stiff lower back. No incident worthy of note had occurred since he had reported for duty at nine.
Swiveling from left right in the comfortable vinyl office chair, he lamented the office’s cramped dimensions. Though not claustrophobic, he had yet to acclimate to the confines of the broom closet turned office.
A series of light footfalls approached in a hurry. Frowning his curiosity, he stepped back and away from the door. Rap! Rap! Rap!!
“Come on in?”
Shaken, the ginger-headed desk worker Julia opened the door. Her hazel eyes glowing bright and wide like saucers, she panted.
