Chapter Seven

How the hell did I not notice the same last name? How was I going to survive two of them? Guess I better hope Haley isn't like her sister. "Is she really? I didn't even notice the same last names. What a small world." I plastered on a fake smile. "I will have Lexi send you the information on the interviews. You can sit in on Haley's interview, but either Damon or I will conduct the interview. I hope you understand." "I completely understand. I didn't even know she was in town. I will let you get back to what you were working on. I have one last visual to do and then I will call the clients. Have a great rest of your day!" Amanda finally left my office and I had a sudden craving for a coffee. As I went to step out of my office, I almost ran right into Damon. I tried to stop myself from falling, but managed to fall into Damon instead. Thankfully, my tiny frame was no match for his muscular body. He caught me and helped steady me. "Didn't mean to almost knock you over. I was just coming to let you know that Derek wanted you to meet the new security guy. Since you are one of the owners. I happened to bump into them downstairs when the front desk had a question." He gave me a sexy grin and I couldn't help but bite my bottom lip. "Well, I just finished with Amanda and needed to get a coffee anyways. Why don't we head down now?" I turned to close the door to my office, then followed Damon to the elevator. We made our way to the lobby when I noticed Derek talking to a guy in all black. I knew right away that this guy was the new hire. But that wasn't all I noticed. His shirt fit snug to his body so that you could see the muscles in his back. He must have crossed his arms over his chest, because his shirt stretched even more. My eyes trailed even lower, to wear his snug jeans fit over his tight ass. If it wasn't for the fact that I was becoming very happy with Damon again, I would definitely be all over that. I pulled my eyes from the new guy's ass once I noticed that Damon started walking towards them. "Hey guys! Blaire, this is Jason White. Jason, this is Blaire Green, the owner of the hotel." Derek gestured between us. Jason moved forward and grabbed my hand, bringing it to his lips. I could feel Damon grow tense beside me, but he remained professional. "It's a pleasure to meet you Blaire. It's nice to see you again Damon. Derek here was just giving me a tour. This is a great hotel you guys have here." He looked around the lobby quickly, before returning his gaze to me. "I guess I just have to meet with Lexi in HR to finish up some paperwork before my shift tomorrow." "Do you remember how to get back to her office? I just want to get back to the cameras before the next crew gets here." Jason nodded and Derek headed back to the security office. Damon had moved a little closer to me while Jason wasn't paying attention. I knew what he was trying to do, and I couldn't help but smile at myself. He was so cute when he was jealous. "Blaire, I'm just going to go back and check some emails. See if Amanda or Lexi have sent over those meeting times yet. I will go ahead and put them on our calendars if they have. I'll see you around Jason." Damon gave me a wink before headed back upstairs. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at how cheesy he was. "I have to say Blaire, you are not at all what I was expecting." I watched at Jason took his time looking me over. I wasn't really sure how to feel about that. Was he insulting me? Was he impressed? His face gave nothing away, besides for the obvious fact that he was checking me out. "And what is that supposed to mean exactly?" I crossed my arms over my chest and narrowed my eyes at him. He seemed to be thinking about his answer. "I was expecting some woman in her mid to late thirties, permanent scowl on her face. You are obviously not that. You are what, 24, maybe 25?" He let his gaze linger on my face as he waited for me to answer. He raised a brow when he thought that I was taking too long to answer. "I am 25. I worked for a year after I graduated top of my class from Brown. Is my age going to be a problem for you?" I was quickly growing irritated with him. What did my age have anything to do with running this hotel? Jason chuckled and rolled his eyes. "I never said being young was a bad thing. Sorry if that is how you took it. You just don't see someone so young in your position. Obviously they are expecting you to do great things to hand over such a new hotel to you." I wasn't really sure what to make of Jason yet. What was with this people starting off giving bad impressions? "Well, thank you. I think? Maybe you should choose your words better. Then people won't think you are insulting them." Jason laughed and shrugged. "You definitely aren't the first one to tell me that. Now, if I haven't insulted you too badly, would you like to grab a coffee with me sometime?" I couldn't help but narrow my eyes at him. Was this is plan all along? Had he just been waiting for Damon to leave us so that he could ask me out? "Well Jason, I don't think that would be such a good idea. One, I am your boss. That wouldn't exactly look good on my part. Two, I am kinda seeing someone already." I didn't want to tell him that the someone was Damon. He didn't need to know that detail right now. "Technically, Derek is my direct boss. You just happen to be over him. I don't see what the problem is if you are the boss though. Is it serious with this person you are kinda seeing?" He used air quotes around kinda seeing. "I don't think it is any of your business if my relationship is serious. I am sorry, but I won't join you for coffee. You should probably go to Lexi's office and finish your paperwork if you want to start tomorrow." I didn't even give him the chance to respond. I made my way to the hostess stand of the restaurant and ordered a coffee to go. Once the hostess handed it to me, I made my way back to my office. I sat behind my desk and took a long drink of my coffee. I pulled up my email and saw one from Lexi and one from Amanda. I then noticed a few entries on my calendar. Damon must have already put the interviews in for me. I noticed that there were two interviews for the PA positions and Haley was the only one for the EC position. I quickly pulled her resume up and looked over it. She had great recommendations and was exceptional in school. I decided to shoot Amanda an email and tell her that Haley got the job. She was to come in tomorrow to fill out paperwork with Lexi. I looked at the clock and saw that it was almost 6. I decided to call it a day as I just wanted to relax. It might only be my second day, but I was already over this week. I pulled up the calendar to note what time the interviews were to start tomorrow. I set reminders for an hour before so I would be prepared. I locked my office door and made my way upstairs. Once inside, I kicked off my heels and made my way to the wine fridge. I grabbed a bottle of red and a glass. I carried both to the bathroom where I ran hot water in the tub. I added some bath oils and began to remove my clothes. I filled my glass with wine and sat it on the edge of the tub. I turned on a relaxing music station on my phone and settled into the hot water. I immediately felt my muscles relax. I picked up my glass and took a long drink. This is exactly what I needed. I laid my head back against the tub and shut my eyes. Not long after, I heard footsteps at the doorway. I knew who it was. Anyone else would have announced themselves, or the front desk would have notified me that someone was here to see me. The footsteps started getting closer. All of a sudden, I felt strong hands massaging my shoulders. "You are really tense love. Why don't you hop out, and I will give you a much needed massage?" He continued working my shoulders and placed a kiss on my temple. I had to admit, my entire body was full of knots. I lifted the lever so that the water would drain, and grabbed my glass of wine. I finished off the contents and laid down on my bed, face first. I felt the bed shift and his warm hands started kneading the knots from my lower back. The more he worked, the more relaxed I felt. I hadn't realized just how stressed these last two days had made my body. After he worked out my arms and legs, he made himself comfortable next to me in bed. "Did you have dinner yet? It's only going on 7:30, we could go get something?" As if to answer his question, my stomach chose that moment to come alive. I realized that the only thing I had eaten today was a bagel. Maybe food wasn't such a bad idea? "Can we just go to that little café down the street? Now that you got all the knots out of my body, I just want to go to sleep." I got out of bed and made my way to my closet. I threw on some leggings and a thin long sleeve shirt. I met Damon by the elevator and we made our way to the café. By the time 8:30 came around, I was all but falling asleep at the table. Damon paid the tab and led me back home. I was so tired that I didn't even change. I just curled up in bed, and felt Damon get in behind me. I passed out so quickly, that I don't even think I dreamed. The next morning, I awoke to the smell of fresh brewed coffee. I picked up my phone to see what time it was. Only 6:15. We had plenty of time until our first interview. I made my way to the kitchen to see that Damon already had a cup made for me, as well as a plate of pancakes, eggs and bacon. He was making sure I actually ate a decent breakfast, seeing as I was making a habit of skipping lunch. I sat at the counter and started eating. The food was amazing. I made quick work of my coffee, and Damon was already making me a second cup as I finished my food. As he took my empty plate, I noticed that he was already dressed. He looked very professional, which I should have expected seeing as how we have two interviews today. He was dressed in a black suit, black tie, and a striped shirt. I would never get tired of seeing him dressed up. It will always be my favorite version of him. Well, besides the naked version. I started on my second cup of coffee while I made my way to my closet. I had to find something equally as professional as Damon chose to wear. I opted for a grey pantsuit with a dark colored undershirt. It was chic and professional. After all, you can never go wrong with an expensive pantsuit. After applying my makeup, I rejoined Damon in the kitchen. He was just finishing my mug of coffee for the interviews. I told him that I was just going to run to the lobby and tell Addie to just take messages for me until noon. He made his way to our offices, and I went to the ground floor. I waved to Derek as I made my way to the desk. As I was going back to the elevator, I noticed a woman around my age that looked a little lost. It was getting closer to the time for our interviews, so I figured she was probably one of the candidates. I made my way to her and she jumped a little when I tapped her on the shoulder. When she turned around, I realized just how gorgeous she was. Like, a natural beauty. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. You just look a little lost. Is there anything I can help you with?" She let out a nervous laugh and glanced down at a paper she had in her hand. "I guess I am a little lost. I have an email that says to wait by the desk and Lexi would get me for the Personal Assistant interview. I feel like you aren't Lexi though?" She was now eyeing my pantsuit. "No, I am not Lexi. I am Blaire Green, the owner and the one who will be conducting your interview. You must be Samantha Dunn? Why don't you just follow me up to my office? I will get the other owner and candidate." She nodded and followed me to the elevator. Damon had text to tell me he had the other candidate and would meet us in my office in 15. I got comfy and had Samantha sit on the couch opposite of me. I pulled the list of questions for the interview. I started asking Samantha some ice breakers to get her to relax. She was a sweet girl. After 15 minutes, Damon entered with who I assumed to be Jonathon Daniels. He looked really young for his age, but I had already looked over his resume and I had to admit, it was rather impressive. Jonathon joined Samantha on the couch. Damon came and joined me by my desk. I don't know if it was just me, but I suddenly felt tension in the air. And it certainly wasn't between me and Damon. I shifted my gaze to Samantha, and noticed that she was staring wide eyed at Damon. Damon was looking everywhere but towards Samantha. I raised an eyebrow just as I heard Samantha clear her throat. "Damon, I didn't realize you were in town." I watched her expression change and I immediately turned to Damon. Now I knew where the tension was coming from. It was between Damon and this new girl. What the hell was this vibe they were giving off? "Damon, mind explaining what is going on right now? How do you know Samantha?" I glared at him, but only so he could see. He looked nervous, and I knew that could only mean one thing: He had slept with her.
