I was really hoping that I was dreaming when I heard my alarm go off. There was no way it was already 5 am. I rolled over and grabbed my phone. I turned the alarm off and threw it to the other side of my bed. I really thought about just laying here for a little bit longer. I had decided to go ahead and lay my outfit out for today while we unpacked my clothes for yesterday. I opted for dress pants and a colorful top. Not too dressy, but also not too casual.
I finally decided to get out of bed and proceeded to my closet. I quickly got dressed and pulled my hair into a low bun. I looked at my phone and realized it was only 6. I made my way to the kitchen and started a pot of coffee. As I was leaning against the counter, sipping on my first cup, I heard the elevator open. I didn't even bother turning around. I already knew who it was. As I heard him get closer, I finally decided to turn around. Damn was I glad I did.
Here he was, all dressed up and looking professional. Blame it on me growing up in the Upper East Side, but there was something about a man in a suit that turned me on. I quickly took another drink of my coffee, trying to push all s****l thoughts from my mind. Once I finally got control of myself, I smiled up at Damon. He made his way into the kitchen and made himself a cup of coffee. I became curious as to why he decided to show up here at 6 in the morning, when he said he couldn't be here until 9:30.
"What brings you here three and a half hours before you said you could be here?" I continued to sip my coffee while I waited for him to answer. He looked like he was thinking about something. I didn't think it was that hard of a question.
"I ended up not having to go into the office today, and decided to come wish you good luck instead." He sat his coffee on the counter and wrapped me in a hug. "Plus, I just really wanted to see you again." He placed a soft kiss on my lips before picking his coffee back up. I wasn't planning on my day starting off like this, but I'm glad it did. I was instantly in a good mood.
"Well, we might as well make our way to my office. I just want to swing by the reception desk to tell Addy to send my calls to my office." Damon nodded and we both headed to the elevator. We quickly stopped at the front desk to tell Addie that we would be in my office. We made our way back to the elevator and to the fifteenth floor. I started to realize that I had no idea what this office was going to look like. I slowly opened the door, and I felt my mouth drop open.
We walked inside and the first thing I noticed was the gorgeous marble floor. It was white with a smoky effect to it. There was a unique style desk over by the window that was the entire far wall. This whole office screamed luxury and money. Normally I wasn't one to go for this look. But seeing as how I would be holding meetings here, this style was perfect. I decided to walk to the windows and admire my view. I couldn't believe how lucky I was. I felt Damon walk up beside me, but he didn't make any physical contact with me. He just stood beside me with his hands in his pockets.
"This is a nice office you have here. You have a great view." He turned to face me. I could see the hint of a smile on his face. "Though the view I have right now is even better." He winked and proceeded to sit in one of the chairs across from my desk. I decided to finally see how I felt behind a new desk.
I couldn't help the huge grin that spread across my face. I ran my hands over the top of my desk and logged onto my computer. My email came up first and as I was quickly scanning through the unread messages, there was a knock on the door. "It's open!"
I looked up when I heard the door open and was excited to see that it was Lexi. "Hey Lex! How do you like my new office?" She grinned and walked all around with a smile on her face. This was definitely more her style, so I knew she would love it.
"Clients are going to love you just by looking at this office! It is gorgeous!" She smiled at me before taking the empty chair beside Damon. "I decided to get here early to go through everything in my office. Try and see what system they were using. Let me tell you, the old head of HR must have been 70 years old, because there is no electronic system for anything. It is going to take me forever to update everything." She groaned and started rubbing her temples. "Why are you here so early?"
She looked at Damon, but got this s**t eating grin on her face before he could answer. I could only imagine the assumption she was about to make. "You guys f****d on your desk, didn't you? Not how I thought you would break it in, but to each their own." She winked and I rolled my eyes while Damon laughed. She is lucky I love her, or I might have hit her.
"No Lexi. Nothing s****l has happened in here. Not yet anyways." I winked at Damon, if only to toy with Lexi. Even though in the back of my mind, I knew that s*x on this fabulous desk was a very real possibility. "I think I am just going to go through some of these emails, and then take a walk and meet some of the other employees. Damon, you can go ahead and walk around and see what you think. I will meet up with you in about an hour?"
"Sounds good. See you in a bit." He winked at me before leaving the office. I turned back to my computer, but could feel Lexi's stare. I rolled my eyes and ignored her. I knew it wouldn't last long, but I didn't want to give her the satisfaction of annoying me already this morning.
"Spit it out Lexi. It sounds like you have a lot of work to do." I started making notes of some event opportunities. I chanced a peak at her and noticed that she was smirking with a raised eyebrow. She apparently didn't believe that nothing s****l happened with Damon this morning. Boy was she in for disappointment. "Lexi, I promise you that Damon and I have kept things PG this morning. Now, do you mind?"
She rolled her eyes, but lifted herself off the chair. She came around to give me a hug before leaving me to myself. I quickly made it through my emails and found that there were questions about at least 3 good events that people wanted to hold here. I closed my email and proceeded to go find Damon. I guess now is as good a time as ever to tell him I wanted him to run the hotel with me. As I entered the hallway, I realized that I didn't have to go far to find him. Even though he was so close, I couldn't will my feet to move me any closer. The blonde that he was talking to keep me in my spot.
I had to admit, she was gorgeous. She was definitely flaunting what the good lord gave her. She was in a form fitting black dress, and her gigantic boobs were literally spilling out of the top. I couldn't hear what either of them were saying, but I could see her laughing at whatever Damon had just said and placed her hand on his bicep. I could feel myself getting pissed off. That was all I needed to be able to make my feet work again.
I made my way over to them and placed my hand on Damon's back. He turned towards me and gave me a loving smile. I didn't miss the obvious glare from this girl. Who was she anyways? This was the first time I was seeing her, and she was already shooting daggers at me. Did she work here? Did she know I was the new owner?
"Excuse me, but we were in the middle of a conversation. Do you mind?" Blonde Barbie stood there with her arms crossed, which just made her boobs start to spill out even more. Damon hadn't taken his eyes off me, so he wasn't aware of the look she was giving me. I could help myself from rolling my eyes. Damon seemed to remember that there was someone else with us and cleared his throat.
"Where are my manners? Blaire, this is Amanda Grey. She is the Event Coordinator here at the hotel. Amanda, this is Blaire Green. She is the new owner of the hotel." Amanda obviously didn't care who I was because all I got from her was an eye roll. What was her problem? "I just ran into her as I was coming back up to find you. The head of security was wanting to meet you. I can show you to his office if you are done with your emails?"
Amanda obviously didn't like that I was going to pull Damon away from her. She cleared her throat in an attempt to reclaim his attention. "But we were in the middle of a conversation. Can't she just find Derek's office on her own?" She sweetly batted her eyes and tried desperately to look innocent. Too bad I had already seen the devil horns.
"It wasn't an important conversation. Besides, Blaire and I have business to attend to. We can continue some other time." I watched Amanda roll her eyes before walking away. I turned towards Damon before making any move to find the security office. I raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to notice my mood. He finally realized something was wrong.
"What is that look for Blaire?" He honestly looked completely dumbfounded. Was he really that oblivious? Or was he playing dumb? Either way, I was extremely annoyed with her actions. She was extremely unprofessional the entire time. Not to mention her inappropriate outfit. Who the hell comes to work with her boobs falling out of her dress? Apparently that Bimbo Barbie.
I glared at him. "You can't tell me that you didn't notice her boobs on display for you? Or how she was obviously flirting with you. You had your back to her so you obviously couldn't see that glare she was giving me the whole time." I got even more pissed off when his stupid sexy grin came across his face. His stupid, sexy, smug face that I just wanted to slap right now.
"You are hot when you get jealous, do you know that?" He chuckled and leaned in to kiss me. His comment pissed me off, so I moved away from him and started down the hall. "Blaire, where are you going? Come on." I could hear him start to follow me, but I didn't dare turn around. I was trying to calm myself down before finding the security office. I felt him grab my wrist and gently turn me towards him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and tightened his group so I couldn't escape. "She might have been flirting with me, but I only have eyes for you my love. You have nothing to worry about."
He gently kissed my lips, and I realized that there was actually a reason I had went in search of him. I figured we should have this discussion in private and motioned toward my office. I really hoped that this wasn't going to come back to bite me in the ass. This was my dream. I wouldn't let anyone bring it or me down.
As we walked into my office, I went over and casually leaned against my desk. Damon reclaimed the chair from earlier. I studied his face while I tried to decide how to approach the topic. "Damon, I want you to be honest and serious with me. Do you really want to run this hotel with me? Or do you only want to do it because our parents want it to happen?" I bit my lower lip while I waited for him to answer. I didn't realize until now that I didn't really know if he genuinely wanted to do this. What if he didn't? Why was I suddenly nervous that he might say he really has no interest in leaving the financial firm he was at? I looked up to see him watching me.
"Blaire, of course I genuinely want to do this with you. When have I ever listened to our parents anyways? The way I see it, we can only go up from here. So if you want me to run the hotel with you, I am all in." I smiled at him and let out the breath I had been holding. That was a huge relief. Now that we took care of that, we could get on with me meeting the head of security.
"Yes, I want you to do this with me. I will text Lexi and have her get the paperwork ready for you. Now let's go find Derek. I want to go over some potential events with you." He nodded and we proceeded down to the first floor. I saw Lexi talking to someone dressed in black with an earpiece in, and figured that was Derek.
Lexi waved once she saw us coming. "Hey guys! This is Derek, head of security. Derek, this is the infamous Blaire Green. New owner of the hotel." Lexi smiled big and I could tell she was already crushing on the head of security. I mean, he was a good looking guy. Just not my type.
Derek held out his hand while he spoke, "It's a pleasure to meet you Blaire. Both Damon and Lexi have spoke very highly of you. It sounds like you are exactly what this hotel needs."
I couldn't help the smile that started to creep on my face when he said my friends already hyped me up. I really couldn't have better friends. That also reminded me, better tell Lex that Damon will help run this place.
"While we have you both here, we have good news for you." I paused and watched the confusion on Lexi's face for a few minutes. Then she slowly started to smile. It never took her long to catch on.
"Damon is going to run the hotel with you!" She basically yelled it before pulling us both in for hugs. "That's such great news! There is no way this won't be the best hotel. It will have 2 of the hottest and brightest owners in the Upper East Side."
I couldn't help but laugh when she added a wink at the end. She sure was something else. "Well, It was great to meet you Derek. Damon and I have some potential events to discuss before we call it a day. We will see you around." We left the two of them and made our way up to my office. I proceeded to sit in front of my computer while Damon positioned himself behind me, slightly leaning over my shoulder. My body instantly started heating up. I subtly shook my head, quickly shoving those thoughts to the back of my mind. We had work to do.
We spent the next 3 hours discussing the potential events, which ones would benefit us the most, and which ones we were already equipped to take on. We made great progress, and I suddenly realized that I was exhausted from my first day. I was ready to unwind. Damon must have noticed, because he instantly started to rub my shoulders, helping me relax. He leaned his down and started trailing kisses down my neck. He reached the sweet spot right at my shoulder and lightly nipped the skin. I let out a quiet moan and felt him smile against my skin. "Why don't we go check out the bar downstairs and grab a drink?" He started kissing and nipping my neck. All I could do was nod my head yes. His warm breath left my skin and I saw him holding his hand out to me. I took and we we made our way downstairs. When we walked into the bar, I was speechless. It was gorgeous and already busy, even though it was only 5:30. When my eyes landed on the bar, my mood quickly shifted to annoyance. Of course she was down here. She smiled big when she spotted Damon, and glared when she noticed me with him. Is this b***h serious?
