Anana ran through the open path of the fortress. Her heart raced in rhythm with her strides. Her legs pounded against the ground with a speed that surprised even her. She felt lighter, faster, her feet barely seemed to touch the ground. Without breaking pace, she leaped over a low stack of crates with ease and landed smoothly without any ache or jolt of pain in her ankles. Her agility was unmatched. She didn’t even pause to think much of it until she got to her room panting lightly, the realization began to settle.
