Kade froze at the doorway, his breath catching in his chest as his eyes landed on Mira. She was awake.
"Mira…" he whispered, the word barely escaping his lips before he rushed to her side.
He dropped to his knees beside the bed, cupping her pale face gently. "Thank the goddess," he breathed, tears glistening in his eyes as he leaned forward and pressed a kiss to her forehead. Relief and joy swirled through him, overwhelming his senses.
