Long before the night Mira planned to spill Elia’s blood, the sun was still high, hanging lazily in the afternoon sky. Elia sat in her chamber, her slender fingers trembling with anticipation and her heart pounded as she reached for the parchment on her desk. She had been waiting… hoping for a reply to the desperate message she had sent to Anana. Her eyes raced across the inked words.
