The next day, I heard a knock at the door. My heart raced, but I forced myself to stay calm. Whenever I heard a knock on our door, I felt like one of the loan sharks was outside to harass us. I peeped into the hole first before opening the door. My fears turned into relief when I saw Detective Hudson outside. He was with a colleague. I opened the door with a smile.
