Chapter 53 May – 3,390 BC Earth: Village of Assur NINSIANNA Every morning, from the time Ninsianna had been a child, it was her job to cook Papa breakfast because, most mornings, Mama got called away. For three days she'd managed to evade her mother, but today no frantic villager had appeared to summon a healer. She slipped down the stairs to where Mikhail, already up before the dawn, had gathered the empty water buckets and stood, poised, to exit the door. "I'll do it!" she glanced apprehensively at Mama who stood at the oven, stirring a crock filled with porridge.
