Lieutenant Kasib stood at attention as General Hudhafah looked through the evening reports, his tail tucked up tightly along his right side. Every now and again he discreetly tasted the air, the sensitive tines of his long, forked tongue registering the pheromones which betrayed the general's mood.
"Any sign of that Angelic?" Hudhafah asked at last.
"Some errant mineral deposits that turned out to be iron ore," Kasib said. "Two debunked reports by locals, attempting to claim the reward. And this, Sir. Some kind of seismic disturbance."
Hudhafah's sharp dorsal ridge reared with curiosity. He examined the report from one of the shuttles.
