"He's not real he's not real.... " Liliana chanted to herself in almost a whisper.
Jake walked steadily toward her and stood inches away from her "what are you doing in my office, I thought you said we won't be seeing each other again after that night, so what are you doing here" Jake said feigning ignorance of not knowing why she was there or how she got to his company. "Shouldn't I be asking you that, this is the ceo's office and I came to drop important files for him to sign, wait... Are you the ceo?" Liliana asked with a shocking look on her face. Jake laughed, walked around the office desk and sat in his office chair." You've delivered the documents, you can leave". Liliana had a look of realization on her face as she hurried out of his office and headed to her office looking shock and troubled. How can this be?. He mustn't know about this baby. She said wrapping her hands protectively around her flat tummy. Liliana got off work around 4pm which was the official time of closure and exited the building. She was trying to wave down a cab when a black SUV pulled over in front of her. Thomas, Jake's body guard came out of the car and opened the car door for her, " ma'am, the president asked me to drop you off, please get in". He said still holding the car door. "Thank you but no thanks and tell your boss I don't need his help" she said turning to walk away already getting angry without knowing why. "ma'am please, I'm begging you, I'll be in big trouble if you don't get in please" Thomas begged trying to gain her sympathy which seemed to be working. "Alright, whatever just take me home". She said getting inside the car as the they drove off.
Anna notice Liliana was unusually quiet and kept spacing out during dinner so she decide to probe "how was your day at work today?". She asked breaking Liliana out of her train of thought. Liliana sighed "it was fine", she responded while playing with the food on her plate. "Liliana you haven't been yourself since you came back from work , you kept spacing in and out of thought. Is there something bordering you? ". Anna said with a concerned expression on her face. "Am fine Ann, am just tired may be I should retire for the night". Liliana said before standing up and heading to the bedroom.
The gentle rays of dawn spilled across Liliana's face waking her from her slumber. Surprisingly she woke up feeling happy and in a good mood which was a complete contrast of her mood the previous night. She stepped out of the bedroom into the living room and headed to the kitchen where Anna was busy making breakfast . She tiptoed into the kitchen and gave Anna a big hug from behind "good morning Ann, am sorry for how I worked out on you yesterday during dinner" she said releasing Anna from the hug. Anna sighed turned around to face Liliana while leaning on the kitchen counter. "am not mad at you Lili, I know it's pregnancy-roller-coaster hormone" she said with a giggle, making Liliana laugh. "I saw him yesterday ", Liliana said. Anna gave her a puzzled look, "who?" she asked. "The guy from that night". Liliana said. Anna's facial expression changed to worry. "where, did you tell him, how did he take it?" Anna grilled her with a thousand questions at the speed of light. "Calm down Anna, I didn't tell him anything and I don't plan on telling him anything about this baby" Liliana said. "But why Lili?". Liliana sighed "He's my boss and I don't want him to think am after his money. That guy is too rich Ann he might even end up taking my child away from me, I'll work to fend for my child ". Liliana said picking her fingers with a worried look on her face. "But Lili you know you can't hide this from him forever, soon you're going to have a baby bump and he will definitely find out". Came Anna's worried response. "Honestly Ann I don't know what to do and I can't even quit because base on the contract I signed, I can't quit until after two years of working with them otherwise I'll have to pay a huge amount of money as Finn, I don't know how to go about this but I'll definitely figure something out ", Liliana said. She sighed and stood up "I gotta go get ready for work" she said leaving the kitchen for the bedroom. "OK, I'm almost done here too", Anna said. Liliana came out of the room after a while of getting ready. She had a light make up on and was wearing a short sleeveless office dress that stopped right above her knee and her hair which was usually in an updo has been well ironed and cascading freely around her shoulders. "oh my God, who are you!!!", Anna excited exclaimed. "You look effortlessly ravishing Lili. Are you trying to impress someone today? " Anna asked with a grin."I'm not trying to impress anyone Anna, I just felt like doing something out of the usual today", Liliana said. She quickly finished her breakfast and left for work.
Liliana entered the office feeling a new sense of confidence, her short office dress flowing gracefully with each step. The fabric, a delicate blend of cotton and silk, shimmers slightly in the day light as she strides into the reception hall and headed to the elevator, catching the eye of every passer by" good morning", she greeted the receptionist who seemed surprised at her beauty, she smiled as she walked past her. The dress, though free skims lightly over her figure, accentuating her curves and complementing her poise and elegance. She got to her office and was met with a pile of documents for her to go through. She quickly settled down and started going through them. She was so loss in her work that she didn't realize it was time for a launch break until her stomach growl as a reminder. Liliana quickly got off work to go get launch. She was coming out of her office and wasn't paying attention when she bump into a hard masculine chest.
