Chapter 10

Zeeshan

So while I was waiting for Michelle to finish with Serena, the one person I wasn't ready to meet just yet showed up.

Serena's father.

We all call him Mr Marche.

Why?

He doesn't like the title king, because well since Serena disappeared he wasn't anything like a king and his pride was hurt when the people he was supposed to protect and lead started chanting slocansy like

"King of misfortune, king of blood, king of ruffians..."

And so on.

Anyway...

He walked up to me and looked me over from head to toe.

"I don't know what destiny has planned but by the looks of it you are far from what Serena deserves..."

I suddenly knew he must be talking about the bond.

"Sir... I..."

He stopped me.

"DON'T twist my words, it's got nothing to do with who you are but what you have been up to... And honestly I think you need a good shower before even coming close to Serena, because you can smell that awful woman's scent all over you from a mile away..."

I was shocked.

What does he mean?

Is Annabel's scent still on me?

Did Serena already pick it up?

Maybe?

I don't know what came over me but I refused to let anything go wrong so I turned to walk, run out before Mr Marches stopped me again.

" When you are done scrubbing, meet me in my chambers, we have a important mission to discuss..."

He said and entered Michelle's office.

I ran back to the dorms and went straight into the shower, on the hand basin I saw a note.

"Use this... Its a special potion I put together to get rid of that god awful bloodsuckers scent, thank me later... Xx Michelle."

I smiled

Since I came here Michelle has been the only other supernatural that hasn't looked at me differently.

She treats everyone equal and I understand why she was the head witch.

We became friends trying to find Serena.

Unexpected but true.

I scrub my body and hair, leaving no place untouched.

I couldn't risk Serena smelling Annabel's scent on me, it might set her of...

Thats if she feels the bond as well.

After the shower I got dressed grabbed a sandwich from yesterday that was in the fridge and than headed towards Mr Marches Chambers.

I was about to knock when I heard a faint voice.

"What do you think... Will he be a good mate for our Serena?"

Silence

"Well, as long as he hasn't slept with anyone else, he will be perfect, I have known his father for as long as he has been alive and to say he was a good man wouldn't do him justice... I am sure Zeeshan is the same..."

Again silent

"But he lost Serena... How can you be so sure..."

Mr Marches cleared his throat.

"Because it's not his fault, someone switched the itinerary on the day of extraction and that is something they have no involvement in, as they don't have the clearance needed to do it, but... I have a sneak suspension who was behind it and I am send zeeshan and his father and a few others into the field to gather information about my suspension... So lets wait and see... "

I was standing at the door for a while before finally knocking.

" Come in.. "

Came Serena's mothers voice.

I walked in and her mother Mrs Marche gave me a warm smile as always.

She loves her daughter but she was a person who didn't jumped to conclusions by mere words of other.

Thats why she was the only person the king trusted.

He knew she saut the truth in everything and didn't stop until she found proof of what she was told to be either a lie or the truth.

"Come, have a seat... You must have heard some of our conversation, so let's get down to business..."

And thats why he was the ruler.

He has a sense of everything.

No one can pull a cloth over his eyes unless he allows it.

"Here this is the information I have gathered, you and your father will head the team, find me answers and I might be willing to let go of the strings between us... Just answer me 1 question honestly..."

I got very nervous as I knew well what his question was and for once I thank God I didn't sleep with Annabel.

" Yes... And no... I will answer your questions, and no I haven't touched any woman, Annabel's scent was on me because she was trying to make a move on me and honestly I almost made the mistake of having s*x with her but the mating bond stopped me just in time... "

The king and his wife looked at me in surprise.

" So how long have you known? "

I don't know how to answer.

Its not like I could tell him how I was intimate his daughter in my dreams..

" A while... I started seeing Serena in my dreams not long after she disappeared so I went to Michelle than she told me about the mating bond... "

They both smiled at each other than at me and the king waived his hand, I took the documents, greeted them and walked out.

I was on my way out when I met my father.

He looked pale, or upset.

He walked up and told me to follow him.

I listen.

We headed towards my dorm.

As we entered he turns and locked the door than closed the curtain and sat me down sitting in front of me.

"Okay, are we planning something secret here?"

I asked jokingly.

"When were you thinking about telling me your the royal daughters mate?"

I didn't think he would actually be bothered by this.

"Um... Now?"

He scoffed.

"Zee... I told you those who are of your kind but have purple eyes are the ones you must avoid at all cost yet you are mated to one, Zee they kill their own to keep living, they aren't like those normal vampires who drink blood and live in solitude from the world... They actually control the entire world... Boy... You have no idea what I have had to run from because I was working under them..."

I wasn't expecting that.

" Dad... I didn't choose this mate, we are given mates... Like.. "

He cut me off.

" You will not accept this bond, do you understand... Choose a mate and forget everything about that girl.. Please, promise me... "

I was no speechless.

"Dad.. Forget about everything for now, here is a mission we were given... Lets finish this than we can get back to this stupid conversation we were having..."

He was about to say something but I stopped him and gave him the file.

"Here read it and tell me what's the plan.. I am tired, see you later..."

I said and walked out.

I can't do what he said and I can't not do what he said.

Fuck.

This was bad.

I was worried about her family hating the idea of us being mates, little did I know it would be the other way around.

Well I guess things will be getting interesting around here...
