After leaving Hong Lao under the tree, Han Nian planned to climb up the hill and observe from a height the entrance that Elders Hong Jandi and Hong Gui had talked about. However, he canceled that when he saw a pack of lightning wolves coming in large numbers. Immediately Han Nian turned around and ran.
"Young Master Hong, quickly inform the others, there are Lightning Wolves heading this way!" Hong Lao, who was about to doze off, was instantly startled by someone’s shout. He looked at Han Nian and immediately stood up without questioning its truth, because he already understood that young man’s character a little.
"Elder Jandi, we have guests!" shouted Hong Lao while he leapt closer. The leap was quite far—achieving a hundred meters in one stomp. Han Nian also followed and landed not far from the elders who were now talking to Hong Lao and listening to what they were saying.
"What kind of guests, Young Master, that you look worried?"
"According to my brother here, there are lightning wolves with their pack coming here. We must prepare. Don’t let there be casualties!" Hong Lao explained. Jandi looked at Han Nian and asked, "Are you sure?"
"Correct, Elder. It can be estimated there are dozens of lightning wolves heading this way!"
"Hmm, this is good news. Those wolves will lead us to the underground path. Let’s hide!" Everyone climbed up a large tree, launching their bodies and remaining still while regulating their breath on the tree branches. However, a wolf’s sense of smell was very sharp; they could recognize the scent of humans coming. A growl was heard when they appeared.
"They’re only level three wolves, but because there are dozens in their pack, maybe approaching a hundred, then it’s the same as us fighting a level six beast. If we’re discovered, this will be difficult!" Hong Gui immediately said quietly to Hong Ba who was near him.
Hong Ba said, "Try not to involve the juniors, especially the Young Master. We must protect them, no matter what happens!"
"It seems difficult to realize all that, because we can’t fight and protect everyone when the enemy outnumbers us," said Hong Gui again, shaking his head resignedly at the current reality. "I feel guilty for not forbidding the Young Master from joining the treasure hunt."
"What’s already happened, we can’t regret it too much. What matters now is we must obtain the treasure and also survive from this wolf pack."
It could be seen that more and more wolves were gathering at a large tree. A tunnel was revealed there when several wolves opened the cover that concealed the entrance with two hands each. One by one they went inside, leaving ten wolves on guard.
After waiting a few breaths, Hong Jandi descended and immediately swung the sword in his hand. Sreet! One wolf that was unprepared was hit by the attack, but it was only a light wound at the base of the neck. Hong Jandi’s plan was to behead the wolf, however, the stream of lightning that came out of the wolf’s horn struck his hand, so the sword he used trembled slightly and lacked inner energy input. On the contrary, now he was attacked by the ten wolves with streams of lightning that moved to form a ball. That ball was then thrown at Hong Jandi’s body.
Boom! Hong Jandi managed to dodge, although he was still flung back due to the explosion’s effect. But before landing on the ground, his body was immediately caught by Hong Ba.
"How are you!?"
"The scale of the electricity isn’t too large, but if they combine again like before, then the effect will be very large. Must be careful! Don’t let them form a lightning ball and throw it!" replied Hong Jandi, looking at his right hand still trembling from the shock.
Hong Gui descended to attack the lightning wolves when they combined their power again, larger than before. But before he could extend his sword, an attack from behind hit his back. One wolf came out from inside the large tree and pounced on Hong Gui who did not anticipate it.
Braak! His body was immediately slammed onto the small rocks and rolled. A large tear was seen on Hong Gui’s back which, if not treated immediately, would kill him. Hong Ba shot forward to reach Hong Gui who was about to be pounced again, but the large wolf’s body also slammed into his body with its mouth agape. Hong Ba thrust his sword until it pierced the skull. The wolf died on the spot.
Hong Ba glanced at Hong Gui’s previous position. He could breathe easily when Nian was there standing, having saved his brother.
Nine wolves remained, but now one wolf looked up. It wanted to howl, perhaps to inform the other groups about the death of two of them.
"Young Master, hide!" Hong Jandi warned. "All of you too—none of you come down. Because this is dangerous!" Hong Jandi stared at the other juniors. As the one responsible, Hong Jandi had the right to command them. Everyone, including Hong Lao, did not dare to violate what Hong Jandi ordered, because they knew the consequences if they violated it. Death could befall them.
Han Nian moved closer to the wolf that was about to howl. His movement was as fast as lightning. Micro steps were used so he could attack while escaping the encirclement.
Set set set. Three fell.
"Lightning Sword!" he muttered again. He moved quickly. Before the wolves’ lightning could form a ball, Han Nian had already succeeded in crippling the remaining six.
All eyes were stunned at his prowess. Han Nian sheathed his sword.
"Let’s go inside!" Han Nian said and immediately entered without hearing or seeing approval from all the members of the Hong Clan.
"You all wait here. Let me accompany that young man," Hong Ba proposed.
Jandi thought that was not good enough, but before he could speak, Hong Ba had already dashed off.
"We will stand guard here. If it’s safe, then we will go inside!" said Hong Lao. "Yes, Young Master!" answered everyone who remained.
"Let’s prepare traps for that wolf pack, in case Elder Hong Ba and Nian don’t come out." Jandi then organized everyone to make traps.
Meanwhile, inside the tunnel that grew larger and larger, those two people walked close to each other. If previously when they entered they had to bend their backs, now they could already straighten their heads.
"Be careful, Uncle. Maybe inside there is a king or queen of the wolf pack," Han Nian also already drew his sword again.
"Alright, young man!" Hong Ba answered politely. 'Just how was this young man trained that it made him so strong? Even his muscular body shows that the physical training he went through was not easy. And where is his teacher, what is his name?' Hong Ba was still thinking about that while walking until his body bumped into Han Nian’s shoulder.
"What are you thinking about, Uncle!" Han Nian asked. "Focus. We’re already surrounded by wolves!"
"Forgive me! What should we do?"
"Follow my steps!" Han Nian moved with micro steps.
