Chapter 3

1023 Words
Hans Matteo's Point Of View. I woke up smelling the scent of my ex-wife. I missed her so much, and I don't want her to know that I was the one who sold her. I know how mad she was at me, because of our past. I saw the sunrise from the window. "I love you," I whispered and kissed her forehead. I slowly stood up, not making any noise. I put my clothes on and was about to get my car keys when I accidentally dropped it making a loud noise. "M-Matteo?" I looked at my wife who was in shock. I bit my lower lip, not knowing what to say. "V-Vienna..." I stood up as I get the key. "W-Why—How come you’re here!? Don't tell me I slept with you and—" she looked like she was about to cry. "Vienna, I did it because I—" "F*ck it, Matteo! Did you want to control my life again? Will you ruin my life for the second time!?" she shouted. I never had a chance to tell her... I still love her after many years have passed. "I-I'm sorry—" "I don't need your apology even if you begged in knees. I'll never forget what you did, and will never-ever forgive you!" Her words felt like I was stabbed in my heart. I looked down and endured the pain I felt. "I understand, I also won't disturb you after this. I hope the money can help you, for whatever reason you needed it. I'll go now," I said and walked, "I don't want to see you again, let's not cross paths again..." she said before I leave the room. While walking out of the club, I can feel my tears falling down. I hop in my sports car and struck hard against the car steering wheel. "I can't believe this would happen... I missed her so much..." I whispered while sobbing in tears. I started the engine and drove to my company. I own a car company, because the last 2 years after Vien and I had an annulment. I was referred to a business man named Leonardo; I am the only one who fixed his 30 years old fashioned car that was given by his late wife. He was so happy that a lot of mechanic tried to fix it but they didn't succeed, but I did. In exchange, he wanted me to work at his company because he owns this car company. I worked hard until I got promoted. I fixed lot of cars that made him proud. Mr. Leonardo even took me with him in Amsterdam where his parents’ grave is located. We had a great frienship and I helped him to make his company famous. Many businesses started to invest with us. Sadly, he died 4 months ago because of heart disease. His lawyer said that I am the inheritance of his company. Since Mr. Leonardo never had a child because his wife died due to a miscarriage. The friendship we built made me encouraged that I must treasure and cherish the company he left for me. I went home and took a shower. I wore my formal suit that I used as a uniform in work. **************** "Good morning, Mr. Joson." A guard came to park my car. "Good morning," I greeted him back and gave him my car keys. I walked entering the building of my company. The employees kept on greeting me. My secretary saw me and immediately ran towards me. She's late again, and look at her messy make-up. "Mr. Joson, good morning," she said and smiled at me. "You're late," I said. "I-I'm sorry, Sir." I nodded and we entered the elevator. "Sir, should we reschedule the dinner with Mr. Smith? He sent an email that you said you can't come but he badly needed to talk to you in person." She opened her tablet. "Yeah... Make us an appointment tonight." She immediately tapped the screen of her tablet. I walked inside my office while she was following me everywhere I went. She's a newbie since Mr. Leonardo's secretary resigned after he died. "Sir, what kind of breakfast should I order for today?" she asked. I sat down on my swivel chair and opened my laptop. I charged my phone and looked at her while thinking about what I should eat. "An omelette will do. Make me a hot cappuccino, in a large mug." "Noted, sir." She walked out of my office. I opened my laptop and saw the email from my hired stalker. He is the one following Vienna everywhere she goes. He sent me a picture of Vienna entering the hospital this morning. I dialed his number. "Hello?" he answered my phone call. "Is she in the hospital where her mother is admitted?" I asked. "Yes, sir. I saw her paying the hospital bills and buying some medicine." I smiled, it was satisfying to know that I had helped her somehow. "Good job. Watch her and make sure she's always safe." "Yes, Sir!" I ended the call and found an email from my employee; he said that he had found someone that matched Vienna's mother's kidney. I felt relieved. Finally, she can have her transplant. I replied to his email with a smile on my lips. I will do anything for her. Vienna is my life, and I really can't live without her. I want her back, to marry her again. I really thought she'd marry that old man, Francisco. But my hired stalker said that Vienna doesn't look in love with him. She was probably using the old man's money. "Sir, your breakfast is ready." My secretary entered my office carrying a tray of my food. I set aside my laptop and ate first. "Talk to James, the employee who found the donor in the U.S.A. I don't have his number. Told him that we need the kidney as soon as possible." I needed my coffee. "The kidney for your wife's mother?" she asked. "Yeah, for my mother-in-law." She nodded and immediately called him. ****************
